Colorado got screwed by the refs...

Post by MiketheangrydrunkenCUfan »

Heh. I wish.

Props to the Huskers for sacking up in the second half and making plays when they needed to. Props to Husker fans for earning :bode: back for another year. It sucks to lose this one, but at least the Buffs came to play. If you had told me before the game that we'd have the ball down by 2 with 1:30 left and 2 timeouts, I probably would've taken it. Hopefully that Suh kid goes pro. See you next year in Boulder...

No doubt the Buffies showed big time, I was impressed with the toughness your Buffs played with. I honestly thought NU was gonna roll 'em, and hitting NU in the mouth early was a sign of a toughie.
Both teams showed grit, and Alex hitting the 57 yarder was money.
Props to CU's coaches for calling a very good game, can't say so much the same for Watson.
Ganz was hurt and didn't practice some of the time off; and it showed, his poorest effort in quite some time.
The gimme TD on the fake FG and the fumble at CU's 4 were near murder.

Best part of the game less the FG, was Suh trashing Cody on the INT...I laughed! Also heard Shaun Moeller got his bell rung..checked out early so to speak; whereas I hope the kid is OK, karma on the decommit. :)

Suh did say he was coming back a couple weeks ago, but as we all know that doesn't hold much water. He has a pretty good bond with Bo so that may make a difference.

props to the skinny little homo for going Linda Lovelace & not choking on a long one

can we get the fuck rid of hawkins now?

after season 3, you'd think the excuses would be different, but they never are. "oh, we're young and we've had injuries" 3 freaking years and they're still having to play freshmen & sophomores because the upperclassmen aren't good enough

and hawkins flat out cost his team at least 2 games by continuing to fuck with a failed experiment at QB- putting the Hansen kid in supposedly because he can run- and then not having him run; going for it on 4th down and failing because either the play selection sucked goat ass, and/or because Hansen was in and all the defense had to do was make sure he didn't try to run. and/or having to go for it on 4th down because your good kicker was a head case, and your not-so-good kicker sucked goat ass. oh, but they're young and they've had injuries

that and the coach is a fucking big bag of bullshit

Cuda,
If CU fired Hawkins right now, who do you think they could realistically get to replace him? I'm as disappointed as you are with the way this season went, but I just don't see too many great coaches champing at the bit to take the CU job, especially if the last guy was only given three years. They could probably promote Cabral and hire a new OC, but that's about the best we could hope for at this point. I say give Hawk one more year and see how things pan out. I would say 8 wins is a must next year if he wants to keep his job. With this schedule, that doesn't seem too much to ask:

Sat, Sep 05 COLORADO STATE BOULDER TBA
Sat, Sep 12 Miami, Ohio at Oxford, Ohio TBA
Sat, Sep 19 WYOMING BOULDER TBA
Sat, Sep 26 West Virginia at Morgantown, W.Va. TBA
Sat, Oct 10 *Texas at Austin, Texas TBA
Sat, Oct 17 *KANSAS BOULDER TBA
Sat, Oct 24 *Kansas State at Manhattan, Kan. TBA
Sat, Oct 31 *MISSOURI BOULDER TBA
Sat, Nov 07 *TEXAS A&M BOULDER TBA
Sat, Nov 14 *Iowa State at Ames, Iowa TBA
Sat, Nov 21 *Oklahoma State at Stillwater, Okla. TBA
Fri, Nov 27 *NEBRASKA BOULDER TBA

Made it down to Lincoln for this one and I'm still hoarse. Most exciting game I've ever been to.

We came damn close to pissing this game down our legs. That ridiculous fake-kick, having a td called-back then fumbling on the 4, Ganz taking that huge sack then dropping a pass that would've gotten back into normal fieldgoal range all had me fuming. Couldn't believe Henry made that kick, we were going apeshit in the stands.

But we finally made a couple plays in the clutch rather than letting another one get away. Nice to see them finally step-up when it counts most.

Props to a beat-up Buffs squad for sacking-up after a tough season and nearly pulling off a nice upset on the road.

Suh is a beast I hope he backs-up his talk about staying. With Barry Turner back on a medical hardship our D-line should be nasty next season.

As far as Hawkins goes I'd say he's OK but the real difference-maker in Boise was obviously Chris Peterson. It's do or die for Hawkins in '09. In year four excuses about being young won't get it done anymore.
You gonna bark all day little doggie or are you gonna bite?

I've always been a Dave Logan fan. Don't know if they could get him though. Don't know if he's even interested anymore

i don't see more than 4 probable wins there, so might as well say goodbye to hawk now.
