Chrysler is offering buyouts

guys with 10 years were offered 60K. So when they accept(they have been told, there is little sub pay if 25-30+year peeps stay on sub for their allotted time) they are done for good. So sub pay for some is a myth, and they won't see a nickel of it, it's either take the buyout of 60K or less, or take your chance the cash is in sub pay fund!

And the guys at chrysler talked shit to me all the time, , when i quit and moved to Florida. I take no joy in them losing their lively hoods, but Karma is a beyatch!

No filing for unemployment benefits, no pounding the pavement trying to find another job. That 10% of wage they lose is offset by not having to drive back and forth to work everyday. Hell, they can go out and get a part time or temporary job in the meantime and those wages won't count against their 90% like it would for somebody drawing std unemployment.

This is pretty simple, basic stuff. Not sure why you and Fu are having such a hard time grasping it.
You were saying?

What?

If you're referring to the UAW now looking to make contract concessions after their companies have been driven to the edge of bankruptcy or worse... so?

Do you belong to any sort of union? Neither do I. They've got more job security than we do, that's for sure.

Besides, there's no way in hell any of the Big 3 are going extinct. They either file for Chapter 11 and re-organize the debt structure, or they get some form of bail-out, or some combination of both. Whatever happens, they need to rid themselves of pension obligations for retirees health care.
I was under the impression that the Big 3 are already in the process of unloading their pension health care obligations and that part of the reason for the 25 billion was so that they could make the proper payments to fund the independent trust that will then oversee those payments.

The 25 bil was for retooling to produce hybrids, not to fund pension benefits, but to make the "go green" folks feel all warm inside.

Fuck them, btw...

Of course, you already knew that... I've never known you to be ill-informed and don't expect that to be the case now.

So you must be trying to reset the thread, as I am, to see just what in the fuck Rack Fu thinks he has to laugh about.

You are the pussy, scarecrow.

It's a known fact.

You've never been anything but a pussy, for almost a decade now.

You never raise the intelligence bar with any dialogue you bring to a thread, even though you scour through your thesaurus trying to find large words you hope to impress other internet ding-a-lings with.

It has never worked and only served to make you look more like the menial labor, barely above minimum wage asshat grunt that you are.

You belong scrubbing toilets at the Little House on the Prairie, that's about it.

Here's hoping your fugly lesbian softball dyke daughter, who must be seriously ashamed of her 98 lb, looking like he just got off a 40 day hunger strike, daddy, gives you a nice Christmas gift this year.

A Louisville Slugger up your ass so far it comes out your nostrils.

You're a weak ass who would get lifted off the ground by a large black bird.

How does that taste?

Thanks. What's does the forklift union think of UAW's loss of their treasured job bank? Will there be a Domino Effect? What's 90% of your income? $6.95??

Worried about their jobs and warned that the cost of failure could be a depression, hundreds of leaders of the United Auto Workers voted overwhelmingly Wednesday to make concessions to the struggling Detroit Three, including all but ending a much-derided program that let laid-off workers collect up to 95 percent of their salaries.
I wonder if that came with a renegotiation of executive contracts to eliminate golden parachutes?

the golden parachutes should end, but, executive compensation is still a red herring in this arguement.

Doesn't matter how much you pay them. There ain't that many of them.

Ofcourse libs don't seem to get this, just as they don't get the fact that no matter how much you tax bazillionaires, it won't matter due to their numbers along with the fact that they aren't dumbasses and will shelter their jack anyhoo.

Then it shouldn't be all that hard to eliminate the glden parachutes. Right?

Back in the 80s, when executive compensation started to get completely out of whack, the argument was that these executives were valuable commodities who were responsible for generating massive profits that mere mortals were incapable of creating. It followed that if you paid more for your executives that you would be able to attract the best and brightest of the lot to your company and that said company would wallow in riches as a result.

Fast forward 30 years and now you have this douchebag claiming that he rates a 10 million dollar bonus for being at the helm during his company's collapse.

Image

And over at GM, they have paid hundreds of millions of dollars to the management team that has driven that company into ruin.

I get that there aren't that many of them. But I also understand that when you clean house, you clean EVERYTHING.

Of course not, you illiterate dumbfuck. Learn how to read, and then how to type a coherent sentence in response... or "is it being" too much trouble to go to that length? How you manage to decipher a tape measure while sizing up somebody's inseam remains a mystery,

Just where in the hell did you get that I thought the UAW contract was a good thing? I simply stated the facts, and you and Fu come in here flailing away, as per usualm.

Go fuck your badass wannabe self, and take a reindeer and AP with you.

I don't know. I don't belong to a forklift union, or any other. If there were such an entity, I reckon they'd think it sucked, but then move on trying to survive this economic clusterfuck.

Oh I don't know. Probably right around when you started saying being laid off from a UAW job is better than actually working.
Let me type this real slow and see if you can follow along.

The UAW jobs bank program is great for the union members who get paid almost their full wage while sitting at home watching porn.

It sucks for the companies trying to survive.

Just because I recognize what a sweet deal they've had doesn't necessarily mean that I approve of said sweet deal.

It's not a 100% bad a deal for GM either. They get a fully trained workforce ready to go when they do ramp up production. Other companies, when they lay off workers, have to usually dip back into the labor pool and train new workers.

BTW: Funny how nobody mentioned the jobs bank program when the Big 3 were turning profits. If you ask me, the real drag on the Big 3 is twofold. One, their inability to make cars that are as durable as those made by Honda and Toyota. Consumers know that and are willing to pay a premium for those models. And the second drag on Detroit is the lack of comprehensive national health insurance combined with their obligation though their UAW contracts to provide quality health insurance coverage.

R-Jack wrote:Is it too much to ask to actually go back and look at what you typed and realize how badly you KYOA before you start "typing real slow"?

Not only did you call me a dumbfuck for suggesting that it someone is better off working than being unemployed collecting union benefits, you also chose to label those who could see that such a ridiculous union perk is not a good thing a "pussy".
I know exactly what I typed and what it meant. You, on the other hand... well, let's just say you can lead an R-Jack to water, but you can't make him drink.

For the last fucking time, anyone in their right mind can understand that it is indeed a sweet deal to not have to go to work, yet still be paid as if you were. Who the fuck wouldn't jump at that deal? What the fuck is so hard to understand about that? Are these english symbols I'm typing, or do they somehow come across your screen in Greek?

Or are you going to sit there and tell me that you wouldn't accept such a deal out of some altruistic belief that it was bad for the industry and the economy?

You'd be a liar and a dumbfuck if you did. If somebody offers you money for nothing, you don't argue about it, you take it.
