Like it would fucking matter, Stoops team will shit all over themselves again, lose their 5th straight BCS Bowl, and we will have to hear for another year how great the SEC is

Re: The topic...
This hurts. This takes our homerun threat out of the backfield. Brown and Madu both lack the ability to break one and go the distance. I think that this will allow Florida to keep their safeties in coverage more often, and for longer, and that doesn't bode well for our offensive line v. Florida's defensive line.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuck, indeed.

Kee-Christ... OU fan wetting themselves over this minor setback and already waving the white flag?
I'll not have it.
You WILL represent your badass conference well and realize that one player won't make the difference in the outcome... won't you?
Afterall, 'tis OU that survived the real meatgrinder that is the Big XII south and not Florida, yes?
I'd appreciate a snappy answer... my bowl picks at work are due tomorrow.

Re: Demarco Murray:Out vs Florida
That blows, along with being OU's big-play rb he's also a quality kick-returner. Florida will put-up points on OU's D. OU needs to be hitting on all cylinders to outscore them.
You gonna bark all day little doggie or are you gonna bite?
Re: Demarco Murray:Out vs Florida
definitely takes away one homerun threat and somewhat negates the offensive balance they had going.

Wow, lets count this
Bradford - hand in a cast probably cant practice
Murray - out
Granger - Out
Box - probably in but not 100% right now
Reynolds - Out
Florida is looking pretty good right now, too bad I don't gamble.

Sam,you can trust me when I say that OUfan isn't making excuses.
I'm confident OU will win.
with a homerun hitter like Murray being out,the game will be closer than I'd like it to be.

Re: Demarco Murray:Out vs Florida
A friend of mine brought up an interesting point. If Stoops had made this announcement right after the CCG, would it have affected the way people voted in the polls? If so, would that be right?
Let's say, theoretically, that Bradford ( or Tebow, for that matter) had blown out his knee in the CCG and it was obvious that he wouldn't be playing in a bowl game. Do you think the voters would have put Texas in the MNC game instead? There's currently nothing that would prevent them from doing so.

Re: Demarco Murray:Out vs Florida
if i recall, Cincy went from a 1 to a 2 seed. wasn't like they were dropped out of a competitive advantage through re-seeding. though, honestly, they were by far the best team in the country with Martin....apologies to babs. doesn't mean they would have won the big dance....but i wouldn't have bet against them that year.Believe the Heupel wrote:Don't think it would have changed anything. No real evidence that voters have done something of that nature in the past. Only comparable I can think of is the NCAA committee giving Cincinnati a worse seed when Kenyon Martin got hurt.
Martin was a freak in college. i saw him in person that year in Norman just dominated a pretty good OU team. not quite Larry Johnson college game freak....but freak.
OU asswhips Mizzou to seal the deal without Murray....it's an interesting question CUMike raises but i don't think it's a difference maker.
doesn't help OU that he's out, but Chris Brown gives you that second effort to move the chains and a nose for the end-zone. Madu showed some spark against MU.

Re: Demarco Murray:Out vs Florida
more than Murray or Granger being out (though Box is tough)....the month off would favor a D to prep for OU's O scheme in my opinion more than the other way around.
the month off, of all the BCS BS, is just stupid from a pure competition angle.

We will find out soon enough but a radio station in OK was saying that Loadholdt and Lendy Holmes might be academically ineligible.
Hard to believe when finals aren't even completed, but we shall find out soon enough.
If true that might be the nail in the coffin for Oklahoma in this ball game.
When does a factual announcement about academic status come out for you guys?

your apartment in Des Moines....were you working for the FBI or something?Believe the Heupel wrote:\
I remember watching that game from my apartment in Des Moines. That was also the year that Cincinnati beat Duke on a buzzer beater in the Great Alaska Shootout or vice versa, yes?

Cincy scored the first 11 points or something and the game was over. OU cut to 6 at one point and Huggins calls timeout. and they score the next 6 points out of the TO. they had us so spread out on O with their size and length that we couldn't even start our offense until their was about 10 seconds on the shot clock after we pass the ball back and forth b/ween the two guards at about the time line. that was typical of a lot of Kelvin's losses against good teams....see Syracuse in 03.
vito: no clue about the academic issues....i'm not seeing that much about it on OU boards though there was some noise about Holmes. however, i've been off the homer boards most of the week. at Colorado, grades are available immediately. i turned mine in on thursday around 11 AM and they up on the student web portal the moment you submit them. if it's true, somebody knows now i'd guess.
