i normally would've agreed spot on with mgo, but shoalzie used ellipses, which made me question my own judgment about the bcs conferences.

Re: Gene Chizik to Auburn
If some blacks would work as hard at WORK as hard as they work at playing the race card, things may be different. Seriously, no one is more obsessed with racism than black people. As someone else said, we have a black Prez (elect) now. There will always be some level of racism in society. This "every fucking time a white dude gets hired, he's taking some black dude's job" bullshit makes me want to punch any fucker who says it in the face.
No one is claiming Tuberville was fired due to racism. However, had he been black with the same resume, the fucking hand-wringing, race card throwing bastards would be saying he was fired because he was black.

because they hired someone who wasn't 5-19 as a head coach.Papa Willie wrote:Why didn't Michigan hire Gill?
plus, his name is rodriguez. auburn should have hired themselves a cracker named lashawn and avoided this mess all together.

Once again
If a Black coach that was an assistant at Auburn at one time went on to be a 5-19 Head Coach at a BCS conf school in his first HC gig, would Auburn have rehired him to be their Head Coach?

That's a trick question and I can see right through it....
The answer is blacks don't ever get hired so no one can prove one way or another.
Re: Gene Chizik to Auburn
Ya, and about every time some black guy gets a position of note the Limbaugh-crowd is going on about how it got handed to him because he's black. Goes both ways.IndyFrisco wrote:If some blacks would work as hard at WORK as hard as they work at playing the race card, things may be different. Yeah, on a racist scale of 1-10 (10 being the KKK) I'd say Frisco's about a 37.Danimal wrote:Ya, and about every time some black guy gets a position of note the Limbaugh-crowd is going on about how it got handed to him because he's black. Nice job of avoiding the point. And before you try to go to the "well Nebraska didn't hire him" card:Papa Willie wrote:SoCalTrjn wrote:Once again

Has USC ever had a black coach? Racists?
1. Bo was the booster fave. Gill would've been a tough sell for Osborne(who was best man at Gill's wedding) with Buffalo still only in mid-turnaround. Auburn had the luxury of seeing Buffalo completely turned-around. If the hire was being made this year Bo wouldn't have gotten the nod.
2. We really needed defense and hired a defensive guy. Auburn really needed offense AND HIRED A DEFENSIVE GUY. Ya Chizik like Bo understands the progam he is going to, that is a plus.
3. If Bo had already gotten his shot as a HC and the team he took-over just got worse we sure as hell wouldn't have hired him. Nobody is saying Chizik got a plum assignment, he obviously didn't. But in his second year he couldn't even get through the cupcakes unscathed and he failed to win a single conference-game. If Chizik staye he'd start '09 on the hotseat.
The scenarios are totally different. GIll now has a better resume. Bo hadn't been unsuccessful in a previous HC-stint. Bo fills needs better than Chizik.

Re: Gene Chizik to Auburn
Unfortunately nowadays anytime a black gets or loses a position worth noting there is some contingent on one side going-on about how it came down to race. Not saying those people aren't right sometimes, but they tend to be kneejerk and assume the worst.TheJON wrote:Yeah, on a racist scale of 1-10 (10 being the KKK) I'd say Frisco's about a 37.Danimal wrote:Ya, and about every time some black guy gets a position of note the Limbaugh-crowd is going on about how it got handed to him because he's black. As far as this particular hire goes I think it wouldn't have been very controversial if Gill got passed-over for somebody like Leach or Patterson. Both have serious resumes. Hell I could see Muschamp, his name is on-fire now and would really bring excitement to the program. But Chizik coming-off an unimpressive stint at ISU looks fishy. With that hire I can see where black dudes are saying a brother got fucked-over. Can I say why for sure GIll didn't get the job, obviously no, but I think it looks questionable.

Re: Gene Chizik to Auburn
i suspect having a NC ring from UT and going undefeated as DC at Auburn has more to do with the "tolerance" for 5-19 than the color of his skin. if you (arbitrarily or conveniently) exclude those factors (the gaudy ring and previous success at AU) from the conversation and staple race into it, you're left with an assertion that race is the factor by a kind of negative proof that lacks supporting propositions (as expressed above).SoCalTrjn wrote:Once again

Re: Gene Chizik to Auburn
hilarious.
how long does Chizik have? to run an O with no personnel?
i kinda question Malzhan, actually, for taking that job. one more year of 500 yard games at Tulsa and Kevin Wilson to Northwestern? or somewhere? who else has scored 60 point in 5 straight games....that's the kind of nonsense that makes AD's go bull-moose rut.

Funny hearing an Aggie talk about a professional school in such a manner....... Wheat?
I'd ask you to compare the two school's positions in moot point arguments in front of the Supreme Court or links by former students and instructors at Allbarn to the Supreme Court, or heck even district court judge ships... if Allbarn even had a law school. But hey nothing wrong with going to grad school for Poultry Science...
Maybe you could explain the countless more innovations in Cardiovascular surgery that Allbarn has accomplished as opposed to what Oklahoma has done the previous decade and a half... if it wasn't for that pesky problem of not actually having a school of medicine on the campus... But there's no shame in becoming a nurse through Allbarn that works for an Alabama, UAB, or Oklahoma grad. Either that or you could become a surgeon on large animals.
Maybe cite the many famous politicians or political campaign and party leaders from either party that are Allbarn grads... Oh yeah that's right Allbarn doesn't have a college of political science.
Seems like wheat would be more in the domain of Allbarn grad than to Oklahoma grad.
Wakey Wakey Papa field hand. Thanks for playing...

Re: Gene Chizik to Auburn
Huh? I would say Misery is the 5th best team in the XII this year behind OSU, t.u., OU and taco tceh. They lost all 3 games to those teams they played (OSU, t.u., OU) socring 25 per game on average. They scored 30 against Northwestern while attempting to give them the win at every opportunity yet still managed to eek it out.
If anything, the Misery game "indicated" absolutley nothing. Why have a "wait and see" attitude about Auburn's new coach and a "this meaningless game in which misery STILL won is an indication of how bad defenses are" attitude? Let's wait and see, shall we?
edit: And before tomorrow's post comes, EVERYONE and their grandmother expect the game between Oregon and OSU tonight to be high scoring on both sides of the ball.

Re: Gene Chizik to Auburn
I disagree. I think Kansas was playing better ball than Misery by the end of the season. The USF loss took a lot out of their sails coming into conference play. By the end they were moving back in the right direction and took Misery down. I think Baylor could have been a pretty even match with Mizzou by the end as well. The North was just simply atrocious; if aTm was in the north they might have put together a bowl season...IndyFrisco wrote:Huh?
