Yeah, I was all over this a year ago when it first became apparent. Of course the usual dickwad denialists like babs and a few others attempted to pooh pooh it, but the shit is definitely hitting the fan.

The real culprit here is of course Monsanto and its general trend towards monocrop industrial farming. Basically, the bees require a fair variety of crops in their pollinating, and the lack thereof has caused serious weaknesses in their overall health.

That 'Bama has nominated Vilsack--a Monsanto stooge--for Sec'y of Agriculture is a troubling if not dire prospect for this crisis.
