They are actually 5th in-conference Mace, 4th in the East Div.
Edit, they are tied for 3rd in the East.

RACK
Props to Ferentz and company on a major turnaround and a big year. They were a damn good squad there at the end. Finally getting away from Christensen and going with Stanzi was the right call. Congrats Mace and JON. So is this Greene's last game?
Don't see why recruits are so big on SC. Spurrier has been spinning his wheels since he got there. He is hardly an offensive guru anymore. Why Jarvis Giles bought into his crap is beyond me, when was the last time Spurrier had a star back? Fred Taylor? Look past the recruiting spiel kid.

I think Ferentz will stay. He is already making mad jack in Iowa City and has more job security. HC's that jump from the college-ranks haven't exactly been tearing-it-up or happy in the NFL, that should come into his decision.
But if he does go the fact that Iowa will fork-over major coach money will help in the search. I'd offer Kelly a fat contract. Think they'd take an old husker in Turner Gill?

Read between the politically-correct speak by Ferentz and it sounds like he'd Taylor Mays his own gramma to take the Browns/Chiefs/wherever job. "Scott Pioli and I are the dearest of friends."
Make guaranteed NFL jack with a proven personnel guy you're close to and is now going to be running the show somewhere, or go to a minor bowl game every other year at a wrestling school? It's a no-brainer.

NOT LIVING IN IOWA ANYMORE. That, in itself, is worth its weight in gold and cannot be undervalued, as much as you desire to.

Re: Iowa is "SEC calibur team"....
Ferentz really looked emotional on the sidelines today. Something just seemed different. I got the feeling when they were showing him he was reflecting on his 10 years at Iowa. I think 1 way or the other he's made up his mind assuming Pioli takes the Browns job. Either he was reflecting on what great times he had at Iowa because he's leaving or he was reflecting on the great times he's had and realizes what a great gig he's got. I haven't a clue which one it is. No one does. No one knows what he is thinking.
If he wants to go to the NFL, then he needs to go. If that's his dream job, then he's earned that right. He's done so much for this football program. He will have left it in far better shape than he got it and the new coach will be entering an excellent situation considering the money we can pay a coach and the fact that we've got a lot of talent coming back these next couple of years. BCS in the next 2 years is a darn good possibility. 10 great years and he's handled himself with nothing but class despite what those fucking piece of shit loser Clone fans seem to think. He's a 100% class act and if the NFL's where he wants to be then I hope he goes there and wins a Super Bowl. 66 wins the last 8 years, 2 Big-10 titles, 5 New Years Day bowls, and 4 Top 25 finishes........at Iowa! So if he wants to go, he's earned it.
As for the new coach.....
My list begins and ends with 1 guy........Mike Stoops. He is the absolute perfect fit for this program in terms of realistic candidates. I believe he could take this program to an even higher level because he'd be able to recruit better. He's done okay at Arizona, but that program was a terrible fit for a young coach with absolutely no ties to the area. Recruiting against Petey in the Pac-10 and then trying to turn around a program that had fallen as far as they had is tough for a young coach with no head coaching experience. If I were to guess whether or not Stoops would take the job if offered I'd bet my entire life savings ($2....ha ha, I know save the joke) he'd say yes in a split second.

You might be the dumbest fuck ever. Seriously. Congrats on that. Make guaranteed NFL jack? You fucking moron......what the hell kinda money do you think he's making at Iowa? 3 fucking million, dolt. There's no guaranteed money in the NFL after 2 years. The only guaranteed money he's got is at Iowa and it's right about what he'll get in the NFL. He can collect a $3 million paycheck for the next 15 years at Iowa if he wanted.Degenerate wrote:Read between the politically-correct speak by Ferentz and it sounds like he'd Taylor Mays his own gramma to take the Browns/Chiefs/wherever job. They're not. I still don't even count USC as a member of the conference. They suck. Always. Iowa woulda beat the Cocks even without all the gifts.
Spurrier will either commit suicide or quit before next season.

I'll give props to your basketball program but you need to understand that our wrestling coaching staff could go to Lawrence and kick the shit out of your football team and your fat fuck of a coach. Right now, I'd say Nebraska is a better team, though probably not at the time Mizzou played them. They got better as the season went on, while Mizzou somehow went backwards. I guess getting your shit packed by the likes of Texas and Oklahoma can do that to a team.Mace wrote: You beat NW in fucking OVERTIME.....and an argument could be made that the Wildcats were the best team that you DID beat.
No way they should have lost to Okie St or Kansas, yet they did. No way it should've taken OT to beat NW, yet it did. So I won't sit here and myopically slam out how Mizzou would beat Iowa by 2 TD's or that you were lucky to have avoided Missouri.

I do not recall picking Minnesota to win. I thought they had a chance. I don't care. Games played before Jan 1 don't mean shit to me. Adelpiero with yet another shit take. It's almost like dude's going for some sort of Shit Take World Record. I think you're there, buddy.....you can stop now. Right cuz if Team A beats Team B and Team C beats Team A that means Team C would beat Team B. Yeah, that's how it always works.Northwestern Beat Iowa in Iowa. Pitt beat IOWA

I'll let you in on a little secret.....
Iowa lost to Pitt, N'Western and Michigan State back in September/October. We're a much different team than we were back then. Just like Misery......'cept that's a bad thing for your Tigers.
Misery wouldn't stand a shot in fucking hell of beating Iowa. Chase Daniel is the biggest fraud since Jason White. What's a matter Chase? Face something that resembles a defense and don't know what the fuck to do? I'd rather fuck his mom doggystyle than watch him play QB. Have fun in the CFL.....
Pinkel = bad coach. Misery = shit program. Enjoy 6-6 every year tard.

Iowa fan went out of his way to take shots at Missouri, so there for i replied. I'm not worried about Iowa, certainly Pitt and NU weren't either.
Missouri only bad loss was to Okie st, a game they had 4 chances to win and chubby threw interceptions or missed wide open wr.
their losses were to #1,#3, and a KU team that just bush wacked a Big10 team
the Big10 bowl record isn't a lie, Iowa, because of a shitty opponent was only big10 team looking at a win. 1 win, because of a poor matchup, congrats on bowl tie-ins i guess.
Like i said, you should worry about your team, not mine, i'm actually feeling pretty good about mine. DC is gone, Daniel is gone, and soon Eberflus should be gone.
