It's time to face it....
The best College Football.... is played "West of the Rockies".
If you say otherwise... you're a pollster.
War...
The teams... "West of the Rockies".....having 1 team in the Top 25 to start the season again... in 09'.
Too funny.

I have to agree. Clearly when western teams (ok, APART from USC) come east, they get pummeled.
Oregon State played their best ball west of the Rockies, so did Kal, so did others I'm sure.
It's time to face it - SC is a great team, and many folks want to ride on their coattails.

Only when they're Oregon State in their first 3 or 4 games of EVERY YEAR.... they lost to 'furd in their first game.PSUFAN wrote:I have to agree. Clearly when western teams (ok, APART from USC) come east, they get pummeled.
Cal traveled over 8,000 miles in just over a week.... then played a game hours/not days later.... at 9:00 Pacific time.
Utah didn't seem to have a problem with Alabama.... with a few days rest.
But, they did have a problem at HOME.... with a PAC 10 team.

You obviously missed the bowl season....
PAC 10.... 5-0.
and....The Mormons at the end of the season.... made a mess of the SEC.

I understand the SHOCK.... to a degree.
It must be a bitch... knowing the best College Football is played out WEST (and will be for decades from here on out ...now that the kids have the internet and know the shitholes/midwest...south... east)
Just ask the kid that bolted from OU for Cal.... because he liked "California" more. (This was unheard of 'til recently)
The kid was from Houston, Tejas and was OU's top defensive back recruit.
You've been told all year long... that only one team out WEST is worthy of being ranked in the top 25.
Now you know where College Football is headed... it's a place where the sun sets around 5:00 pm PACIFIC TIME in early January.
Thank you, Cal.
For inventing the internet... (the truth).

Uhm... that's odd, the PAC team I root for has ventured to the other side of the Rockies in each of the last two seasons...
And handed it to your conference in both of them.
You got a problem with Tedford's inability to get his high-talent team ready to play a full schedule, fine...
Just leave my boys out of it.
And tell your AD that now you're beaten our JV team, we still have a little score to settle from about 14 years ago.

What happened here? Did the cargo plane pilot have to dump a shipment of yard mulch in Birmingham before righting the flight back toward the Castro District to drop off the football team? You're pathetic excuses for why Cal sucks are fairly amusing. Add another thousand miles just to make us laugh again.m200L wrote:Cal traveled over 8,000 miles in just over a week.... then played a game hours/not days later.... at 9:00 Pacific time.

It looks like "the truth" needs to add some.... for the Midwestern folk/lore.
Cal went from San Francisco to around the Canadian Border (Washington State) blew them out 666-3....a week after Okie State needed a late surge to beat Washington State 39-13.
Cal then flew back to San Francisco and went to "school".... for a day or two... then got on bird and landed at 9:00 pm east coast time and had time to sleep for around 6 hours and played a game 3,500 miles away... at 9:00 am West Coast Time.
Let me know if "the math" is starting to make sense....
Pssst... The PAC 10 plays teams OOC named "Miami".... but, they're not from Ohio....

3,500? Did they have a layover in Jackson, Mississippi? You think it's possible that some of the Kal players might have cuddled together on the plane for a few extra hours of rest? Maybe while Maryland's entire starting lineup was out until 2 am eastern time getting drunk and plugging dc skanks?

MIT, Stanford and DARPA invented the internet....and Steve Williams is from Dallas, not Houston. maybe you should stick to dancing like oski in your lurid, stolen facebook fantasies.

Just a little heads up for people that don't really have knowledge... on said, subject matter.
http://www.almanacnews.com/morgue/2000/ ... ylor.html?
About 1966, Mr. Taylor recalls, his office in the Pentagon had a terminal connected to time-sharing community at MIT, a terminal connected to a different kind of computer at the University of California at Berkeley, and a third terminal to the Systems Development Corp. in Santa Monica. "To talk to MIT I had to sit at the MIT terminal. To bring in someone from Berkeley, I had to change chairs to another terminal," he says. "I wished I could connect someone at MIT directly with someone at Berkeley. Out of that came the idea: Why not have one terminal that connects with all of them?
"That's why we built ARPAnet," he says.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Tay ... scientist)
J.C.R. Licklider and Taylor co-authored the seminal paper, "The Computer as a Communication Device"[1]. Licklider's and Taylor's ideas and the funding from their group led to the creation of ARPANET, which later became the modern Internet.
Taylor and Licklider were interested in the possibility of networking computers together to facilitate collaborative work and communications, and to share resources. Taylor has on numerous occasions said that the widespread belief that this work was done to make computer systems resistant to nuclear attack is completely false. The first three mainframe computers involved were at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), System Development Corporation (SDC) in Santa Monica, and the University of California at Berkeley.

Uhm, bro...
Pullman isn't a whole hell of a lot closer to the canadian border than I am.
It's in Southeastern Washington, in the Palouse.
But don't let that "Southeast" designation fool you... they still travel to california to play games every year... so it's not that kind of "Southeast."

My bad....
I'm always getting confused on that one... since I have a tendency to think anything north of the Lower Columbia is Canada.

Damn, the way mFool tells it, one would think that Tedford & the Kal football team have a whole shitload of airline miles saved up for next year. That should help when the team has to board a plane for the long trip to Palo Alto.

WHOA!!!!!
You guys just back the truck right the fuck up for a second...
So, you're saying that Al Gore didn't invent the internet?
Fuck... next thing, you're going to tell me that trading carbon credits and paying Al a commision for it isn't really going to cool down the earth's temperature?
Damn, this could be a rough day for my beliefs.

Easy to do.
But I have a rule-of-thumb to differentiate the two:
If they have their brake lights on all of the time, they're canadian. If their car didn't come equipped from the factory with turn signals, they're Washingtonian.
Also, if they introduce you to both their wife and their sister, and there's actually two different women present -- they're probably not Washingtonian.
If they're stopped in the middle of I-5 admiring the Space Needle... definitely canadian.
If they get offended, rather than laughing at references to "upper mexicans"... yup, canadian.
If they spend 95% of their waking hours bitching about a foreign country, and spend the other 5% of their time vacationing in said country because it isn't frozen... canadian.
If they answer to the name Cletus... Washingtonians.
Just a few rules of thumb to help you in the future.

Re: It's time to face it....
King Crimson is right on the mark here. And of course, mtool is as usualm, full of himself and crap. The "idea" of the internet originated from a thinktank session created from within RAND. There is an article in this month's "Mental_Floss" that deals with this. Also, the Internet Society (ISOC) has a brief summary of the history of the 'nets invention. http://www.isoc.org/internet/history/brief.shtmlKing Crimson wrote:those are some pretty high-powered sources m2. Leonard Kleinrock is an MIT grad. He was the one who is credited for conceiving packet switching. J.C.R. Licklider, as KC said, is also of MIT.
Even your Wiki article doesn't reveal any credit for Rober Taylor 'inventing' the 'net. Assisted in developing, sure. Inventing, no.
Once more, m2 is done in by his own myopic stupidity.
Re: It's time to face it....
i learned about the internets from m2's facebook status.
