A quick perusal of the Senior Bowl's website wasn't very helpful in determining exactly how the teams are selected.

My best guess is that either they go by conference (in which case, Big East would be on the North team), or that they split the players as evenly as possible without much regard to geography (a less likely explanation).

The splitting the players as evenly as possible is probably the more likely way they did it. Pat White was on the South team, so that took your first theory out.

Poor kids that got picked for the Blue-Gray, though. Yeah, they got a chance to work out for NFL scouts and improve their opps in the pros, but they also had to spend a week in Montgomery, Alabama and then play on a bitterly cold Christmas day in Cramton Bowl.

Cramton Bowl is the most antiquated shitlhole of a stadium on earth.

Blue-Gray game was limited, IIRC, to kids whose teams weren't playing in bowl games. Possibly (maybe probably is the better word here), it was the increase in bowl games that killed that game.

I think you could play in the Blue-Gray game and also play later on in either the Senior or Hula Bowl. Could be wrong on that latter point, though.

Alex Mack, the center from Cal, distanced himself from the pack at his position. He probably got himself into late in the first round.

Quality NFL centers, in the modern era, that's what. Peruse that list there. Notice a whole lot of Pro Bowlers there?

I see precisely...one. Don Mosebar. Don Mosebar, of USC, who was well on his way to an NFL HOF career before he got his fuggen eye poked out.

Point being, being a center who gets taken in the first round is not much of an indicator of future NFL success. In fact, looking at that list it seems to be an omen of doom.

Mack's a solid guy though. He'll do well in life beyond football, no matter what he does.

That's Alex Mack. He's unusual. Most of Cal's players are not like Alex Mack or even most of Cal's normal student body. Most of Cal's players will end up being no better equipped for life after football than most of USC's or UCLA's players and they'll mostly be less equipped than Stanford's players.

Nothing too special, on the whole, is the point. Most will do well, some will fall by the wayside.

So, the other point here is that once again you've created a post about Cal, and only about Cal, to no real purpose. It's about Cal so as always it's pretty much a non story...

-It's possible to hit Hwy 1 North to Stinson Beach off of its own dedicated 101 South exit.

-Traffic and the time it takes to get from Novato to 101 South's Hwy 1/Stinson Beach exit varies, depending on the time of day.

"Merge onto US-101 South toward San Francisco/Oakland" means they're suggesting you get on the 101 in San Rafael and head south, toweards the GGB.

The little "6.7 mi" blurb means you'll be on this stretch of freeway for 6.7 miles.

"Take the CA-1 N exit toward Stinson Beach" means...guess what...there's a Hwy 1 exit that heads north to Stinson Beach RIGHT OFF US-101; something which, for some reason, you deny exists. It says to take it for "0.2 mi," which means it's an offramp that's .2 miles long.

Next it says to make a right onto Hwy 1, for "0.1 mi," or one tenth of a mile.

Next it says to turn left on Hwy 1/Shoreline Dr, which are the same thing at that point. It says you'll go "0.5 mi," so you'll be on that stretch for half a mile.

Finally it says to turn left to stay on Hwy 1.

Meanwhile, you've been saying nonsense like this...

It takes 30 to 45 minutes to get from 101 to highway 1 and a drive over 3,000 foot Mount Tamalpais....
