SLIPKNOT Concert Review

Post by buckeye_in_sc »

Well attended the Slipknot/Coheed/Trivium show last night in charlotte...

Was very surprised by the level of musicianship by Trivium...ususally the first band on these types of tours are somewhere between wretched and a no name...but Trivium surprised the hell out of me...I have heard a couple tunes previous but they put on a pretty good show...the guitar work was very good and the bass and drum work was exceptional...very good...

Coheed - THEY REALLY Surprised me...I actually was into their set...their technical musicianship and just flat out shredderness was FUCKING AWESOME...if you can get by the lead singers Geddy Lee type voice you are ok...the drummer was intense and laid down some very cool shit...I will definitely check out more of their shit...

SLIPKNOT - INTENSE, BRUTUAL, an ASSAULT on all senses...Joey was a fucking machine behind the kit...Corey is a wad of kinetic energy and the guitar/bass/other dudes were just awesome...got to hear a couple of my favorite tunes and they were spot on...

no PETS or anything but a great show...

I saw Trivium a couple years back and I was impressed too. I mainly went to see the opening band, The Sword, but Trivium surprised me. Their albums are pretty "meh" but they were definitely impressive live.

Coheed's drummer is definitely a badass. He used to play in Dillinger Escape Plan, so Coheed is actually a bit of step down for him in terms of intricacy. They're an awesome live band as well. Did they have the chicks singing backup?
