I saw where they were putting Oaks Christian and some other thumper school up that way in to a league with a few other private schools that have essentially no athletic programs of note. why dont they put Oaks Christian in that league with Crespi, ND, Loyola and Bishop Amat? or does that make too much sense for the CIF?
Makes too much sense for those fucking idiots. What they should do is put Oaks, St. Bonnie, Crespi, ND, Amat, and Loyola in the same league. Putting them in with Santa Clara and some directional christian school makes no fucking sense, but then again, it's the CIF. Biggest bunch of hypocritical asshats in the world.
SoCalTrjan, I'm trying to remember the name of Carson's big rival. I thought it might be Colton but I guess not. Carson and this other school were located really close to each other (somewhere by Long Beach, IIRC) and back when I was down there Carson and this other team used to duke it out all the time for local supremacy...
Van, that would be Banning. Some epic rival games back in the 70's and 80's.
I dont remember Colton ever being that good back then, the good teams in the 80s from out in that area were Fontana who won or played for the CIF SS D1 title it seemed every year from 85-90, Rubidoux where the Knight boys all went to school, Riverside Poly who won a few titles in the mid 80's, Eisenhower, San Gorgonio, Norco and Canyon Springs.
Colton had a short run of good teams during the late 80's. They had this huge ass running back named George Hemmingway who went to Colorado. True story....I'm at a coaching clinic in Anaheim with all kinds of big names and we're in the hotel bar talking with the colton coaches and they said that this genius Hemmingway scored a 420 on the SAT. Well back then they gave you 400 for getting your god damned name right and this fucking genius scored a 420.....and ended up at Colorado.
