The east coast of the US extends from the southern brownsville, teeehas to the coast of maine at the new brunswick, canuckada border. Forget the name of the town, but, I have been there.
I promise you I can kick your ass in geography, asswhipe.
Now If I had said that tampa was on the atlantic coast, you might have an arguement, all though, technically, i believe the gulf of meheeeco is part of the atlantic.

Not really, stupid.

We've just seen your act.... and it's embarrassing.

You just did... shit for brains.
The "Atlantic Coast" is the east coast... you fuckin' retard.
Tampa isn't on the "east coast" of anything you illiterate.
There isn't any part of Texas that is on the "east coast."
Florida, as I always understood it, is a part of the southeast, which differentiates from the east coast. The east coast, when used in any discussion I've ever had, consists of the NE corridor.

Florida, by virtue of being America's phallus, has two coasts. One is the east coast, one on the gulf coast.
For some reason suckaholic thought the east coast veered sharply west and slightly north. Repeated attempts at hilarity ensued from there, but none topping his "I'll kick your ass at pointing on a map" boast in this thread.
Don't leave the "fat pig" .... from Bacon, Georgia.... out of this discussion.

Then you've obviously never served in the Navy. Most of the major east coast navy bases are in the South.
Outside of that context, though, I'd agree with you that "east coast" generally means the northeast in common parlance.
Btw, while we're on the subject of the Navy, within the Navy Corpus Christi, TX is considered an "east coast" Navy base, so there's actually some support for smackaholic's position in addition to the Wiki article Mr T cited.

You dumb fukks can play semantics all you want. The US has two coast lines. I guess you could argue alaska as having it's own or even 2, as the arctic ocean is considered a separate ocean from the pacific or atlantic.
So, on that point, I won't bother to even argue it further.
But mstool ridiculing the statement that florida is not on the east coast or argueing that the southern tip of the east coast starts somewhere around chesapeake bay, deserves even more ridiculing than my mastery of possessive pronoun spelling.

I always thought anything along the Gulf of Mexico is gulf coast. However, I certainly wouldn't refer to anything along the gulf as west coast.
But....if one was talking about the "west coast" of Florida....only a fucking mongoloid would confuse that with the actual "west coast" (cali, oregon, wash)
When in florida, I use the terms atlantic or gulf. I have heard the gulf coast refered to as the west coast, but, as you say, only a mong would confuse it with the real west coast which requires actual contact with the pacific ocean.

Where the hell's Dinsdale when you need him? I'm sure he has a marine biologist buddy or cousin with a doctorate in geography who's tied to the government somewhere in Tampa

ftfy, vannie.
Most of I-95 is well inland. The land on the right coast is pretty fukking flat and marshy for the most part. This does not make a suitable site for an interstate, especially if you want it to be around the next time dick cheney leaves his cave and takes the haliburton hurricane machine for another joy ride up the atlantic coast.

One time in college I sailed from Ft Meyers Florida to Key West Florida and the body of water was the Gulf of Mexico. I've always considered Florida to be East Coast. :?
speaking of being at sea in the gulf, what are the odds of those NFL dudes missing since saturday when they took their 21 ft dingy fishing, not being chum by now.
Them colored folks don't float too good, or so I been told. I'd say that a few almost good enough for the nfl dudes might have just gotten their lucky break.

I think those two negroes disregarded every possible, known safety principle of fishing out at sea. In addition, they violated every possible known common sense principle of fishing out at sea.
I predict a negro arm or leg with a nike sneaker on it, washes up to the Tampa shoreline sometime around September, just in time for opening day of football.

I think they found the boat. One survivor (not one of the two scrubs).
Wow, the only person smart enough to cling to the boat was a White guy.
Nick Schuyler
I suppose the colored boyz tried to swim the 50 miles back to shore.

If an arm washes up with a sneaker on it, it would indicate that a common sense principle of getting dressed was also violated.
They prolly thought the haliburton hurricane machine was undergoing it's usual winter layup for maintenance. But, maintenance has been postponed due to budget cuts.
Rack cheney for sneaking that baby out for a quick spin in the gulf.

These dudes were allegedly experienced deep sea fishermen. Sounds more like they were experienced at paying folks that know what the fukk they are doing and decided to go it alone this time. A 21 ft open boat is nice....on a lake or maybe 3 miles out, but you don't do blue water ops in a dingy that size.
Rack chuck for doing spring break a little early in the gulf.
mvscal wrote:The only precious metals in a SHTF scenario are lead and brass.
yeah, the gulf can be as smooth as glass. but, 50 miles is a long fukking way out. I think 30 miles out is a bit dumb as well in a 16 footer. That is a long fukking way. If you had engine trouble and radio trouble, you'd be fuct pretty bad.
Keep the dingies on the lake or within sight of shore. There are some 20 footers with enclosed cabins that are damn seaworthy. An open fishing boat does not fit in this category.
what aer the water temps out there this time of year? I would guess not much better than 60 degrees. Even if they were above 70, you wouldn't wanna be in it much more than a few hours.

That sneaker better be a Reebok.

In terms of physical geography he is undeniably and inarguably correct. Much like you are undeniably and inarguably a dong slurping fuckwit.
You're an idiot.
You have a third grade education when it comes to "Physical Geography".
I guess that's what happens when you get all your information from "Google" and you're a welfare kid that ended up in the Army as a way to better your illegal ass.
