Call your school's seed... (INCLUDE THE REGION!)
Sup really gay-assed sounding topic?
It goes like this:
I believe UConn will be the #2 seed in the West. The prize for guessing correctly? A personalized PM from yours truly. It will read:
Subject line: "Well done, douche-casserole."
Message Body: "... now go fuck yourself."
Who's in?
(((I am also predicting a devastating loss in the Elite Eight after turning the ball over 24 times and going 13-29 from the FT line.... but that's for another day.)))

Oklahoma, 2 or 3. Palm still had #2 in KC last night, Lunardi dropped OU to the 3. Either way, picking against OU will be trendy in most people's brackets...and for good reason, possibly.

Re: Call your school's seed...
I think based on body of work OU deserves a 2. All this talk of Memphis and a 1 seed is pretty sickening...

outside the KC--->Memphis track it's probably a wash. Whomever gets the KC/Memphis road from the Big XII is getting a pretty nice ticket....since there's no San Antonio, Dallas, Houston/Austin type regional/sectional or even Denver/Albuquerque....all the other sites are pretty far north in the Midwest/Big 10 country...like Indy or Minny.Bizzarofelice wrote:no respect. we get sent west. while ou and kansas play closer to home.War Wagon wrote:Mizzou - 3 seed

i think you can make a pretty good argument for MU or KU as "champs" and thereby deserving, OU I'm less sure about. MU's case would have been made stronger by beating someone other than BU today, though. Like, for instance, Kansas.

Hey, we would have freaking loved to play Kansas, but beating the team that beat them will have to do.King Crimson wrote:MU's case would have been made stronger by beating someone other than BU today, though. Like, for instance, Kansas.
Honestly, I really wasn't all that jacked up going into this tourney, or even todays game. I figured we were already in the Big Dance and whatever happened was gravy. But then I realized that they hand out a trophy for this and thought that the term "champions" associated with my team sounded pretty good.
So life is good right now, and by damn if Mizzou does get KC as their 1st round destination, I will be at the Sprint Center to watch no matter what it takes.

Temple and USC winners today, eliminating two more at-large spots. Zona's tourney streak probably just ended...
Re: Call your school's seed... (INCLUDE THE REGION!)
Buckeyes ... condition seeding
Beat Purdue on Sunday 6th seed Midwest
Lose to Purdue 7th seed South
This was a big move the Buckeyes made in the tournament. I think they've moved themselves out of that 8/9 game

With the Buckeyes still playing Sunday for the B10, a win puts them in the Midwest at the 7 seed. A loss puts them out West at the 8 seed.

That could be overly optimistic, Mook. I think you drop to a #3.Mook wrote:Kansas #2 seed in the East.......
I was reading phog.net board last night and those fucks are going ape-shit, worried that Mizzou might get as good as, or gasp... a better seed than KU.

Good bye, Penn St. Next time, try having a < 300 OOC schedule.
I am just hoping for some good games at the Garden on the 26th and 28th... well that, and UConn to be playing, of course.

Yeah, no way that Kansas gets a #2.War Wagon wrote:That could be overly optimistic, Mook. I think you drop to a #3.Mook wrote:Kansas #2 seed in the East.......

I think the #1's will be Louisville, UNC, Pitt and Memphis. No way Kansas leapfrogs UConn, Duke (assuming they win the ACC), Michigan State or Oklahoma as a #2.

Memphis may get that last #1 seed, but with that weak ass conference they play in, I don't think they deserve it over Uconn.Rack Fu wrote: I think the #1's will be Louisville, UNC, Pitt and Memphis.

I don't think Memphis "deserves" a #1, but I don' think UConn's 4-3 record down the stretch is #1 worthy either.
I think Memphis may get it "by default" because UConn, Okla, and MSU all fucked themselves in the ass the past few days.

Re: Call your school's seed... (INCLUDE THE REGION!)
Let me take the homer stance for you then, ucant.
I'd hardly call losing to Pit and then in 6 OT's to a good 'cuse team "fucking themselves".
And who has Memphis beaten?
Tulane and a bunch of other 2nd tier programs.
Holy crap, but if they still had Dyson...

Memphis looked very average outside of CON-USA. I don't see what beating up on the Tulanes and Marshalls of the world really proves.

No matter what happens with Memphis, I will continue my yearly March ritual of printing out a color picture of former UMASS cunt coach John Calipari and then taking a huge dump right on it.
So there.

Well done. The look-in when CBS cut to the Memphis team being announced as the #2 was priceless.War Wagon wrote:Told ya'.
I am fairly certain the West had the 4th and 5th 'overall' seeds. I thought they'd make UConn #5, but it was reversed. Hey... at least I nailed the region.
Props on the #3 seed for Mizzou and Coach of the Year, Mr. Anderson.

I think you guys beat Siena though and could absolutely give Louisville a game.

I was surprised that the 'Cuse got a #3 seed. I'll take it.

Oklahoma loses the regular season. Oklahoma loses in the tourney, yet gets a better seed than two teams that beat them and getsa to play close to home.

Re: Call your school's seed... (INCLUDE THE REGION!)
I wouldn't get too woe is us Mizzou fan....not losing by 25 at KU and also again by double digits at ATM to sandwich the OU win in Columbia could have solved a lot of problems (1-2 in last 3 regular season games) as far as kvetching about not playing in KC.

Re: Call your school's seed... (INCLUDE THE REGION!)
not kvetching about Mizzou's woes. more kvetching about lazy prognosticators and seeding panels. Oklahoma has been 2-4 the past month. KU and MU proved themselves to be pretty good, and bested the Sooners. I don't have any grief towards the Sooners, I just figured they'd get a better pick due to stupidity, and sure enough it happened.
in fact, even though the fans won't trek to Boise, I think the Tigers are in an easier bracket than the Sooners.

And the Gayhawks, for that matter.Bizzarofelice wrote:I think the Tigers are in an easier bracket than the Sooners.
But yeah, OU got over and KU and MU got shat on. Why is it every fucking year Duke and NC get to play in Carolina? MU wins the tourney and KU wins the conference, and both get shipped out. That's messed up.
Boise... isn't that where Tyus fucking Edney pulled off the crime of the century?
Granted, that was in the Sweet 16, not the first two rounds, but still... that's some bad karma, maybe.
