I don't necessarily think Louisville is the most vulnerable 1 seed, but I think they have the toughest potential 2nd/3rd round matchups. OSU or Wake could get them.

Although it has no real relevance on the current situation, Pitt's recent history in the dance is not very good. Until they prove differently, they are going down early.

Dyson was a #2... and I think Price is an extremely capable point guard.

All four will definitely survive the first weekend...the 8-9 matchups don't seem very tough. Louisville might get plucked by a 4-5 team with Wake in their bracket. With Carolina, Xavier-Illinois could present a challenge but if they've got Lawson back, they should be a Final Four team.

Short answer, Louisville will get bounced first...we won't see all 4 #1 seeds in the Final Four.

UConn... their perimeter game was lacking before Dyson went down IMHO but without him it is borderline terrible.

I'd agree with L45B on his assessment of Pitt.

Pitt loses after advancing to Sweet 16, UConn loses in Elite Eight. Louisville and UNC make it to Final Four.

I just noticed that if OSU beats Siena, they will play Louisville in Dayton. One hour from their campus.

Yeah but Louisville is in their backyard through the Final 4....I don't want to hear too many complaints. Plus, unless Oden, Connley, and Jim Jackson return, OSU doesn't stand a chance.

Hey, Louisville is a solid team but not unbeatable. They've went down hard this year. If Mullens can stay out of foul trouble, they've got a shot.

For tOSU to beat the Ville they need to not disappear for huge stretches of games...against Purdue they disappeared for like 4 minutes in the 2nd half while Purdue made like 9 of shots...

Mullens and Lauderdale must stay out of foul trouble and control the boards...plus Turner and Buford must make shots...

meh...if they all return next year will be a nice year for OSU b ball...

tO$U does have a punchers chance at taking out the Ville, assuming of course that they even get by a game Siena squad. The problem with Louisville is that they can have scoring issues which means they can't get into their press. As for tO$U they have enough talent to handle the press and shooters like Diebler that can catch fire. Plus as was mentioned they'll be playing an hour from home. Of all the 8/9 seeds that could take out a 1 seed I'd put tO$U at the top of the list.

That said I expect all 1 seeds to be playing when the Sweet 16 rolls around.

You forgot that they arrived only 5 minutes before tipoff after flying 30 hours with a fuel stop in Mogadishu.

I will say, that earlier this season when a different #1 was losing seemingly every week, I did think to myself "Perhaps this could be THE year for a 16 seed come tourney time."

Coupla points here . . .

While I agree that Louisville is vulnerable as a team with occasional scoring issues, they seem to be playing their very best ball of the year right now. Of course, they were the beneficiary of a few upsets on the other side of the bracket in the Big East tournament.

As for all the talk about how close tOSU is playing to home, the same can be said about Louisville. Per mapquest, Dayton is only about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Louisville. I don't think their fanbase would be terribly outnumbered.

And as you mentioned, it's by no means a guarantee that tOSU even gets to that second-round game in the first place. Siena is an awfully athletic team, especially considering that they come from a conference on the low end of the mid-major grouping.

Agreed.
