I had seen he had the last post, but figured it was just him updating the scores in our NASCAR pick'em (that he's been doing for years) and since my drivers sucked last week, I really didn't want to see how badly Bsmack had kicked my ass.... but that's a whole 'nother story.

I trust Mac won't mind me linking to it in the main forum where it should get the attention it deserves. He did himself proud.

I have a similiar PET from Elkhart Lake Superbike Race in 1981. Me and all my buddies rode our motorcycles up the day before the race, but decided to put up tent in some random woods near the track. Around 3am all of a sudden we see a flashlight outside the tent and somebody walking up to us.


State Fukkken Trooper!


Told us we were trespassing and had to leave. We packed up the tents, found a campground and drank beers around somebodies fireplace until the sun came up.

That day we went to the races and watched these superbikes doing 180 in the straightways, riding wheelings, and scaping their knees in the corners. And then we saw Freddie Spencer, greatest superbike rider at the time, crash on one of the turns.

If you guys are interested I can scan all the pictures for a PET.

Well that, and the fact that it's just as interesting as any other PET that's ever been posted here, imo. As well, the motorsports forum has been in a heated battle with the golf forum for traffic and we just got over. For now.

Been to three Nascar events. Two with clients and once with friends. Can't say that I ever need to go again or to watch it on TV but interesting none the less. Lots of earplugs, dip/chew, and grown men rooting for other grown men.

Hell if you enjoy it by all means have at it. Biggest problem I see with the whole thing is the logistics of getting in and out. An 8 hour backup to leave the venue after an event is crazy.

You got it War. That place is out in the middle of nowhere, but traffic is still horrible. You can see it when taking off from DFW it is so big and the land so flat in that area.
