obama the stroker
"We will convey our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much over so many centuries to shape the world for the better, including my own country"
In the bizarro world, there might be a crumb of truth to that statement.

What's in his next speech -
"North Korea, by launching that rocket, displayed it's honorable intention of becoming a partner for peace, and it's desire to continue being a key ally, including my own country"...
“It is usually futile to try to talk facts and analysis to people who are enjoying a sense of moral superiority in their ignorance.”
Re: obama the stroker
I'm not at all impressed by Islam - even the most moderate strains.
However, I believe you're wrong to write it off entirely for the actions of the most radical among them.
Our ability to reason past that sort of mistake is exactly what separates us from the radical people we oppose.
For example, the Israeli terrorist Baruch Goldstein's massacre of innocents does not cause me to write off Israel.
All acts of zealots must be opposed equally.

Sounds like the sort of rhetoric that was coming out of the Bush Administration where North Korea was concerned."North Korea, by launching that rocket, displayed it's honorable intention of becoming a partner for peace, and it's desire to continue being a key ally, including my own country"...

I wasn't commenting on the strategy....just the absolute falsehood of the statement....unless you'd care to correct me by listing all the wonderful contributions islam has made to the U.S....

At least that part of history that happened before 20 years ago or so.
Re: obama the stroker
Well, historically, the Arabs and the Luo tribe did work well together. They worked in the process of selling slaves together. Not sure how much that did for Obama's country but it certainly helped his tribe.
Oh wait, was he talking about the U.S. when he said "his country" ?

The Islamic world was way ahead of the Euros when it came to algebra, geometry, logic and irrational numbers. In fact, they were supposedly the first to make use of the concept of "zero", something that Seer should be pretty familiar with by now.
They did pretty well with slavery too.

Didn't Bush go to the it's a "religion of peace" card once or twice? Can't remember if their was T1B mockery of those statements back then. Doubt it.
Re: obama the stroker
You'd be wrong. Bush's words and choices of words were mocked by several - including me (although not on the religion of peace aspect).Q, West Coast Style wrote:Didn't Bush go to the it's a "religion of peace" card once or twice? No, never once, did anybody on t1b mock such a statement

Greeks and Romans.
They took what the Greeks had done and exanded the work way beyond anything that was happening in Europe at the time (the "middle ages").
Euclid, though he was Greek, lived in Alexandria.
The Romans? Give me a fucking break.
It's pretty hard to solve a polynomial, let alone construct one, when you're limited to I, V, X, L and C.

Maybe he should call them an evil Axis and stomp his heels. It'll impress fat lazy fucks like you, but it also led to N. Korea getting the nuke in the first place."North Korea's development of a ballistic missile capability, regardless of the stated purpose of this launch, is aimed at providing it with the ability to threaten countries near and far with weapons of mass destruction. This action demands a response from the international community, including from the United Nations Security Council, to demonstrate that its resolution cannot be defied with impunity."

The Arabs absorbed all of their knowledge of mathematics and medicine from contacts with the Greco-Roman Byzantines. :doh:Now what? Onogger is going to get slurpee head if he sucks cock any harder than he already has on this trip.No accord at UN talks on N Korea
An emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council to discuss North Korea's rocket launch has ended without agreement.
There was no general agreement at the council on whether North Korea was in breach of the resolution, let alone on whether it should be punished, our correspondent says.
Zhang Yesui, China's envoy to the UN, said that the world should refrain from taking action that might lead to increased tension.
Any action by the Security Council should be "cautious and proportionate", he said.
Given the divisions between the major powers new sanctions seem unlikely, our correspondent says.

Ah yes, the Sistine Chapel, the Medici's brief fling with sanity--though it's a weirdly painted barn compared to the Al Hambra, etc..and Notre Dame--a good place to seek solace when your village is being swept by bubonic plague. Nice try, Avi, but you know we needn't roll out descriptions of the general condition of Europe during the long reign of Christianity. Consider rather how the rapacious massacre of the citizens of Jerusalem by the conquering Christer crusaders contrasts rather conspicuously with the magnanimous benevolence displayed by Saladin when recapturing the city in 1187.

Our US society has gave a fat garaputo fuck like you the ability to live, when you wouldn't have been able to survive under the climate of a 1920's America. Try and imagine varying levels of physically fit you have to be in different time periods. You are only able to survive today, but would no doubt have a problem living in the 1950's. Modern conveniences have allowed your existance unfortunately for all of us.mvscal wrote:Yes, of course life was just a bowl of cherries everywhere else, right?LTS TRN 2 wrote: Nice try, Avi, but you know we needn't roll out descriptions of the general condition of Europe during the long reign of Christianity.
