Zach Thomas is a Chief

Post by poptart »

I guess I'd want to hear from Cowboy fan about how he played last year.
His tackle numbers were down a bit from when he was in his prime as a Dolphin.

But the guy has been a VERY SOLID pro.
5-time first team All-Pro.
Smart player, a student of the game.
Borderline Hall of Fame career as a 5th round pick.
Not bad.

KC has a young defense, and by bringing in Thomas and Vrabel, I see the braintrust working.
Show the young guys what it is to be a TRUE pro.
Bring some stability to what you're trying to build.

If I'm KC fan, I'm feeling fairly ok about this.

The first thing it takes is talent and that D doesn't have any. I guess it doesn't hurt to bring them in, but I don't see it making any difference one way or the other. Thomas is done. Vrabel might have a little left in the tank.
Talent is in the eye of the coaches and their ability to recognize it and maximize it. Just look at some of these guys..

Kurt Warner
Jeff Garcia
Rod Smith
Wayne Chrebet
Priest Holmes
Willie Parker
Jeff Saturday
Matt Lepsis
London Fletcher
James Harrison

All undrafted guys who were thought not to have what it takes. Yet all of them have played significant time in the NFL and been key contributors to their teams. I wouldn't dismiss Scott Pioli's ability to find top rate veterans able to contribute so lightly. His track record for the Patriots speaks volumes about his ability to find and evaluate talent.

Zach was a true professional during his stay with the Cowboys. He is not a 3 down player anymore, but I assume Pioli and Co know that. He brings an outstanding work ethic to the Chiefs. As for Tart's comment on his production being down, thats going to happen when you come from a 4-3 to a 3-4 defense. He had to share the inside with Bradie James, and that dudes a tackling machine. The only concern I have is that it was rumored Zach didn't like the 3-4 defense. It looks like the new coaching staff is trying to adopt the same 3-4 philosophy, so that'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

meh - another over the hill linebacker brought in, ala Donnie Edwards. Good players in their prime, but well past that stage now.

I had heard this was going to happen two days ago and it's pretty unremarkable, imo.

Really?

Does the name Thomas Dimitroff mean anything at all to you? Last fucking year. Sporting News executive of the year. Turned the hapless Falcons around in one off-season.

You seriously need to stop posting in this forum. You know absolutely nothing about football.

Maybe Pioli and McDickface in Dungver might be worth a shit, but I'll believe it when I see it. For now I will assume that they will be humiliating embarassments to their respective franchises.
Given Belichik's record in Cleveland maybe, just maybe, do you think it was Pioli holding Belichik's hand?

In your own stupid fucking words, EVERYONE has gone to shit the minute they left NE. Correct? How does turning 4-12 into 11-5 make for "gone straight to shit the second the door hit him in the ass on the way out"?

You know... nothing.

Still waiting for you to address the rest of the pathetic fuckups who have dribbled out of the organization or is it too painful to recognize that Belichick is the only one keeping the Gaytriots together?
And you'll keep on waiting too....

You fucked yourself in the ass with your own words, douche. Upon Dimitroff getting hit in the ass with the door on the way out (your words) he turned a laughingstock into a playoff team. It doesn't matter what happens this year or the next. The minute Dimitroff left, he found success elsewhere. NOT EVERYONE (again your own words) has turned to shit upon leaving Belichick. Dimitroff can only get hit in the ass ONCE on his way out of NE... based upon your idiotic statement one only needs to look at the first year after leaving NE. Stop trying to move the goalposts by intimating we now need to look at a greater body of work. You're wrong. Again. End of story.

Do you ever tire of me handing your ass to you?

Mvscal, just own up to the fact that you, at the very least, just didn't articulate your thoughts correctly.

There is no way one can say that Dimitroff went straight to shit as soon as he left N.E.

In fact, he went straight to success.

That's what comes from having a crocodile mouth and alligator arms.

Rack ucant for taking out the trash.

I'm not much for sig files, but that there is worthy. I might use it for awhile.
I hate sigs. But I lost a stupid fucking bet because a KC Paul lookalike and his sorry ass team were inferior to the greatness that is the Pittsburg Steelers.
