Video from 2nd Gig
Well we played 2nd gig this past Friday, 1st set was a little rocky, but we had some bright spots in the 1st set...2nd set was much better starting off with Paranoid then hitting Teen Spirit..
here is a youtube video of White Room...we kind of modernized the guitar sound...no sound board, and recorded on shitty camera...
hope you enjoy...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCgpBv_G ... annel_page
let me know what you think...
thanks,
SC

buckeye, you the drummer?
Re: Video from 2nd Gig
I can't watch youtube videos at home, nor at work, so you escape my wrath once again.
Seriously, if you guys are going to play Teen Spirit, break out Blew once in a while. Or Breed.

sc,
Props on the gig. I've always wanted to play the guitar, but have never taken the plunge to commit to it. Looks like you guys have a blast doing this.

Re: Video from 2nd Gig
Indy...yeah it started off as kind of just dinking around in the garage when the next door neighbor (guitarist) found out I played drums for many years then quit...after I got done with my MBA I went and bought me a cheap kit and stuff...then the guy diagonal from me is like I play bass...so we just jammed a bit...no singer...then the guy 6 doors down from me told bass player...I sing...and there you have it...
we are somewhat limited to more radio friendly rock/metal...but hey...we play what we play and try to get it as close as possible...but in all reality if I don't play a song EXACTLy like the drummer does I could give a fuck less...I infuse some of my own fills and or shit where I see fit...2nd live gig...so we are having a blast...

If someone on here tries to go Simon Cowell on you then fuck'em. Personally, I think the singer dude is not very good, but he's better than what I could do. Your neighbor guitar player seems like a cool guy. I watched his guitar lessons for the song Name on youtube. I saw a comment on the lessons from another person saying his lesson worked and was able to play the song himself. Listened to his version which was good.
That video of you guys in the garage was pretty grainy. You looked like you had a porn stache going there. Really like when you were playing Wanted: Dead or Alive and the old dude walks out the door and stands there and then someone else walks out carrying trash.

Indy...thanks...it is tough for the singer as there is no board and honestly the voice come across a little odd on a crappy camera...he hits songs well (Dead Or Alive, etc) and some are out of his range (Forever - P Roach, and a few others)...but all in all we have a pretty deece group going...
the guitar player has come the farthest...used to be he would beg off certain parts of songs but now he is really into it and I think some of the fact that we know the songs pretty cold (bass player and myself) has rubbed off on him...
hey for a garage band we aren't the best nor the worst...we just like to jam...once it gets beyond that it stops being fun...

If I had one half of the "music talent" of your band I would be happy. I compare it to golf. I love golfing. Grew up playing 3 rounds a day in the summer time. I was a scratch player from age 16-19. Funny thing was, back then, if I shot a 76 I would be PISSED. Now, if I shoot 76, I'm eccstatic.
You don't have to be the best to enjoy your hobby. I'm just happy to be able to get out and play golf. Just as you are happy to get out and jam. However, if I were to pick up aninstrument and try to play it, it would be a nightmare. One day....hopefully.

If you do, get a metronome and learn how to use it. ESPECIALLY if you choose to play bass or drums.IndyFrisco wrote:If I had one half of the "music talent" of your band I would be happy. Or just listen to Phil Rudd from AC/DC he is a human fucking metronome...
good idea B Smack...I have one...use it more to practice...been doing 16th notes on the bass drum starting at a speed and moving up after say 1-2 minutes (in 5 bpm increments)...same with single stroke rolls on the snare...Chris Adler did this from Lamb Of God...he said it worked wonders to increase speed, dexterity, and what not...
