Shoalz, if/when the Caps are bounced from the playoffs, I will be devastated, especially how the entire team (save OV) has gone Goober, i.e. impotent. But of course, I will be very excited for a Chi-Det final. Those don't happen too often, and I expect the outcome to be much closer than 95. To answer your question, I won't be running up and down the streets of DC pounding my chest over the Hawks, but I will be cheering them on from home.

It was shades of Game 3 down to the final score. It's been such a fine line in the wins for the Ducks. They win Game 2 in triple OT and then in Game 3 and 6, they build up two goal leads only to have to hang on at the end. When the Wings have wanted to dominate play, they've been able to. I don't expect a game like Sunday's but I'd hope for a similar effort and compete level from them. To me, nobody left in these playoffs can beat the Wings when they want to turn it on.

Are you implying that the Wings aren't turning it on? I think you're not giving much credit to the Ducks, who are certainly capable of taking the Wings out of their style of play. The Ducks could have easily won Game 1 and this series could already be over.

I don't think Detroit is just sitting back waiting to dominate. They can't afford that now because anything can happen in a game 7. The Blackhawks have to be loving this right now.

Quite simply, the biggest improvement the Caps need to make in the offseason is to TOUGHEN THE FUCK UP. Seriously. It was almost like watching women's hockey, this series between the Caps and Pens. Both teams (especially the Caps) seemed afraid to take the body, like a stiff wind would have blown them over. The Caps need to toughen up, both physically and mentally. Too many young stars (and important members of the team) disappeared in the Pens series: Semin, Backstrom, Fleishmann, to name a few. Mike Green was hurt, as I expected, but he was a no-show most of the playoffs, and that hurt them big time. OV can't carry the team by himself. They also need to add a physical defenseman, a guy like Derek Morris would have been nice at the deadline.

Overall, Craps fan can't really complain. The team made progress, advancing to the second round, and they have a solid foundation and a goalie who is only going to improve. While an extremely disappointing finish, it was a nice season. Craps fan has a lot to look forward to.

Now if the tard bandwagon jumpers can get off the wagon so I can get tickets next season, that would be great.

Oh, and we don't have an infantile douchebag like Mark Cuban for an owner, so that's always a plus.
