Cheerios--a drug ???

Post by Wolfman »

http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/FDA_ ... 13784.html

I am now convinced that the USA has become an insane asylum. Earlier I learned that the very CO2 that I exhale is an air pollutant. Now the FDA says that my morning bowl of "O's"" is a drug ?? What next ??? Beast Light is a toxin ??

We've known for years that only garbage comes from your mouth.

And why was it that the Bush administration discouraged people from buying drugs in Canada?

Funny how republicans' are so concerned about people's health...as long as corporate profits are involved.

"And do we really need the FDA regulating breakfast cereal?" ...socialism on the rise..

"recognized as safe and effective for use in preventing or treating hypercholesterolemia or coronary heart disease," the FDA said.... and I might add, without the nics and cuts of a razor. I eat o's every morning sprinkled with a little fibre. In addition to the above, it seems to be effective in regulating and smoothing out the daily bowel movements as well. For further details PM me.

They're not "regulating" breakfast cereal you stupid moronic fuckwit. It's not the FDA that's making any claims, it's General Mills claiming that Cheerios lowers cholesterol levels.

The FDA requested General Mills correct any problems with the labeling within 15 business days of receiving its letter, but the letter does not legally bind any company that receives such a letter to comply.

So you and wolftard can take your manufactured hysteria and shove it up your well lubed ass.

does the FDA have scientific proof that Cheerios does not deliver ?? Yet you believe every bit of bullshit that comes out of the Beltway. Amazing. I take that back--you live in California.

Dumbshit.

The burden of proof is not on the FDA. If you want to claim some kind of life-saving attributes for your product you can't just put it on the label. Ever heard of a concept called "truth in advertising"? Those "socialist" regulations are there for your protection.

Big Dumb O:
"Oh, look this bottle says that sodium hypochlorite will clean out my system and guarantee that I live to be 73 (I'm no fool, nosirree). If it says so on the label it must be true."

Anybody with half a brain:
"Cool. Drink a quart or so and report back in the morning."

Oh, and let me know if and when Cheerios are banned. I'll come back here and admit that you were right if only once in your life and that all government is an evil thing.

No, but empty a can of Rosarita refried beans on my plate and you get a pretty close approximation.

Fuck off, Comrade.
That means General Mills may not market Cheerios legally unless it applies for approval as a new drug or changes the way it labels the small, doughnut-shaped cereal, the FDA said.
Meanwhile, the FDA warned in its letter that, if General Mills fails to "correct the violations" on its labels, boxes of Cheerios could disappear from supermarket and wholesaler shelves around the United States and the company could face legal action.

the responses here reinforce my opinion that "left-leaning" folks look at things through the lens of someone who would trust the agitprop coming out of the Beltway than their own eyes !

Newsmax is not a site I'd tend to be interested in sourcing.

It still beats NBC...CBS...ABC...CNN...Wapo...NYT...Newsweek......

And in this case the FDA is still acting like a bunch of totalitarian douches only an true assclown like Mikey would defend.

So...you'll really just believe whatever you're told, is that what you're trying to tell us?

What's on Newsmax today, wolfie? A GOP sex guide?

never said they made it up, but Newsmax tends to sensationalize rather than simply report....I'm not sure I see the big deal about the FDA asking a company to justify their claims for a product (fair labeling and all), especially when the claim is health related
