Politically, I'm not a fan of Sarah Palin.
But I admit that a portion of me would like to see her advance politically because I don't think I've ever seen anyone who makes the looney liberals melt as HARD as she does.

I have a couple of 20-something friends, Christians, who are politically liberal.

At the mere mention of Sarah Palin's name, it's like ...

And of course the feminist silence over this incident is instructive in revealing (as if it was ever in doubt) what the true interest of the feminazi clan is.

Their interest is not in the advancement of women.
Their interest is in the erosion of traditional family.

Imagine if, say, Angelina Jolie happened to have an 18 year old daughter who got pregnant.
And she also had a 14 year old daughter.
And Angelina attended a Yankee game with her 14 year old daughter.
The next night a comedian makes a joke on national tv about Jolie's daughter getting knocked up by one of the players while Jolie is in the crowd.

Oh ... pssst ... but it wasn't the fourteen year old the comedian was speaking of, it was the eighteen year old.

Oh yes, that would make it all peachy in the eyes of the feminists.

Hey man, there would be SUCH a shitstorm over the incident that it seriously would get to Imus-like level, imo.

But here, when it's Palin and her family, the feminists are like good little women ought to be.

SILENT.

Good girls.

Poptart, the Sarah Palin hate is due to media perception. It is nothing but perceived bias fed to the masses. Is she my first, second or third choice? Never. But I don't get the sheer hatred out there for her. I'm really not even ready for a female president.

If there is any silver lining to this Barack debacle, it's that his family is an example to families as an intact family who is not for gay marriage.

How amusing that the same folk who rail against "political correctness" are now getting their hot 28 year old g/f's granny panties into a knot over a joke by a late night host. It's humor folks. If you can't take it, change your station.

Brood Mare is pathetic, if only in assuming that anyone would know or care that any of her brood attended a Yankee game...or visited New York....or wandered through Juneau without a bra. She wishes someone gave a shit about her moronic Reagan cult babblings. As for Dave, he loves it as it gives him a nice spike in interest just as Conan is about to casually walk off with two thirds of his audience.

Bristol Palin is old enough to serve in the US Army if she so chose to do so. You're calling her a child?

There's an article in today's Washington Post by Paul Farhi that discusses Letterman's refusal to apologize. In it are quotes from "veteran New York public-relations executive" Ken Sunshine, who says:
[P]eople often underestimate [Palin] and underestimate her following. She's exploiting this very smartly. She's speaking to her core base that feels maligned. She's playing the faux feminist ... and the family-values representative. It's extraordinary that she can bring this off.

Poor Mitt Romney. He's probably wondering. 'Where do I get some of this?'

Of course I meant after they get their digital converter boxes. The Nielsen system of determining ratings and shares is about as fair and realistic as an Iranian election. Dave stopped being funny a long time ago. He's a bitter old creep--no friends, fake wife, etc--and his shtick is tired. If Howard Sterns is his big gun, he's done. I did like his crack back on Brood Mare and I hope he keeps it up. Conan is genuinely funny, though it's too bad he feels the need to reign it in for the traditional Tonight Show, which he apparently reveres. Andy Richter seems lost as the Ed McMahon sidekick auto-laugher. Whatever.

Dave stopped being funny about the time he left NBC. He's tried to be Johnny Carson rather than David Letterman. Too bad. He was great as long as he was just being himself.

That hasn't stopped network TV before. Have you missed the last 10 years of SNL?

Since he referred to Palin's trip to NY and used the getting knocked up by A-Rod joke while on the trip I would say he was talking about the daughter who was on the trip, which wasn't Bristol.

Or maybe he figured Bristol was on the trip since the little tramp is the most "exposed" of the Palin litter. Seriously, if someone told me Paiilin and her daughter we're in NY, I would have figured it was Bristol she was schlepping around. The joke only makes sense if it is directed at Bristol.

So you're basically saying that you'd jump to conclusions before knowing the facts? While I agree that joked would have gone over a bit better if it was intended for Bristol, he probably should have made sure she was in NY.

Letterman is a funny guy, but he is very much at fault here for terrible humor. His lack of an apology is even worse. If he has to stoop that low for ratings, then he's in big trouble.

Yea, it was a throw away line. I rarely watch late night these days, so if the dittonazis hadn't freaked out, I would have never even realized what a bunch of whores the Palin girls are.

I can't speak for everyone, but I'd like nothing better than to see Palin run for President in '12. When Tina Fey is writing comedy bits about Palin that include verbatim answers Palin gave to an interview . . .

That having been said, alas, it's probably all for naught. The Republican nomination in '12 is Jeb's to lose. If the Republicans think they have a shot at winning, that is (and if not, Jeb will be the nominee in '16).
