I'm not too worried as it seems to be working very well in Europe. 25% increase in energy costs ? No big deal. We need to become more like Europe, it isn't the shithole the founders and ancestors of this country thought it was, it's progressive. They've come close to pushing us towards the goal twice in the 20th Century and they're leading the way today still.

He ranted about how other countries who don't care about the environment would end up taking our jobs. Being as how the bill passed by a thin margin in the Dem dominated HoR, I would think it's going to be very tough to get this thru the Senate. There are going to be some very pissed off constituents calling and writing their Senators, both Dem and Rep, urging them not to vote for this fiasco. I doubt even one republican will go along with it, and that several dems will reject it as well. Doesn't it require a 2/3rds majority in the Senate? That ain't gonna' happen.
