Here's my "board drama" contribution

Post by poptart »

.Net crashed a couple of times many moons ago and the 2nd time it happened I didn't re-register again.

Fugg it.

Anyway, I glanced at .net a few days ago and saw a tennis thread that SG started after Federer won Wimbledon.

I like tennis talk and SG is good that way, so I registered to become a board member.

Email notification told me that my account would be activated and then I would be free to post.

I waited.

3 days now and I've not been activated.

Possible reasons:

1. I was run

2. Foreign IP address is somehow a problem

3. I'm not welcome at .net

4. Russ has been plastered and can't grab his @ss with both hands

Considering a lawsuit.

Details as they emerge ...

So stick a shotgun in your mouth and go Cobain, and your drama problem will be over. Save this board and the other one a lot of useless posting, like this one.

Epic, EPIC... fucking match. That last set... I couldn't get up out my chair for fear of missing something. I'll give Federer his due. He's the greatest GS champion ever, and a class act. Good for Pete to have showed up and given Roger his props.

That said, when the hell did Roddick decide to grow a pair and show up like that? He'll get one someday...

And 'tart, had you started a thread about the Wimbledon Final, we'd have been on page 3 by now. Well, maybe not. Coming right on the heels of everybody celebrating the 4th and the resultant hangover, maybe just page 2.

Wags,

Roddick has his "one" already. Unfortunately, like Mickleson, he may have many more had the best player ever not been in his era.

Roddick has always been questioned on his heart and dedication. Dude is just overmatched by the best ever. USA tennis just feels they deserve best in the world status with Aggasi, Sampras, McEnroe, Connners, etc. in the past. All great players. Federer is just the best. EVER. Roddick played awesome in the match. His apology to Sampras was classic. Roddick, I'll be rooting for. He deserved that match. Luck always plays a part in the ultimate win. Federer won. He's the greatest. EVER. For now...

I was pulling for Roddick, the Yankee.

I doubt that he wins another major.
This WAS his chance, imo.

He made a very bad move by firing Brad Gilbert after winning the U.S. Open in 2003.
Gilbert had him on the right track.

Roddick is not a "gifted" player.
He's a bit stiff and he lacks some natural "feel" that all great players have.
Not a good volleyer at all.

Huge serve and a punishing forehand.
Those things are in high supply and you need more than that to win BIG in the bigs.

I guess it's possible he could win another major, but he's going to be 27 next month and that is middle age for a tennis pro.
He's not a kid anymore.
And skilled young kids keep coming UP.

Pity he couldn't seal the deal on this Wimbledon final.

Close but no cigar.

Yes, yes, yes, and yes. Dude showed up BIGTIME and left it all out there on the court. He was an emotional, disconsolate wreck afterwards. I just wanted to slap him on the back and say "sorry, bro... it was inevitable and now you're just another footnote in history. Better luck next time".
Luck always plays a part in the ultimate win.
Not really.

Fuck off Poofart!

Look, when Roger started winning the majors, he was playing against a one-trick-pony... That being Aranchio Nadal. Full Western-grip clay court Euros don't get respect anywhere except where there are clay courts. Since the 3rd world "cunt"-tries like Spain and "like the iraq ... or whatever.. such as... south africa," don't have enough Mexican labor or materials to construct fucking tennis courts... they have to go to the full western-grip, which is an insult to those that live on the western hemisphere.

Nadal represents the 3rd world tennis players and Roger is the best player of all time. Oh, and I know where hacks will argue with me. "Well Roger didn't win Wimbeldon 'cause Nadal wasn't there." Bullshit! If Roger was a one-trick pony like every troll on this board... then why does Roger have 15 slam titles?

Yeah, well at least I'm not... oh wait... I can't do that to myself can I? hahaha

It's a valid point, AP, imo.

I don't think Federer has faced a particularly challenging field of competition during his 15 major run.

But it's the old chicken and egg dealie.

Is the competition seemingly weak because Roger is THAT good and has MADE them look weak, or are they seemingly weak because they ARE ... weak?

A bit of both, perhaps.

Remember this asshole named Ivan Lendel (sp?)...

Nobody liked him and he was very good for his era. Was he the fag between the Becker and Sampras days? I forget.

One guy I really hated was this guy the Stanford pros taught me to emulate. He was pre Lendel but was a Stanford-type serve and volley player.

Actually pops.. I had to think about your response.

It seems that the great players were there when they were at their best. Can't say Borg vs Federer with wood rackets would favor Roger. Who knows?

Stefan Edberg! That's the guy I was talking about earlier. He represents the style that is taught at Stanford. Serve and Volley. Simple for hard court players. Clay court faggots have a slow surface and they also use that weak, limp-wristed full western grip to get into position and return balls. Fuck those guys. Seriously. Top spin having euro fags... I better stop right now.

Anyway pops, thats it for me cause the tards are gonna go panty snty smack in 3, 2, 1...

Actually, LV, I think everyone already understands how hard at work you are to kill off everything that is funny about AP's pics...or any other topic that catches your bovine interest.
