It's like a Tulane fan arguing with a Kentucky fan about which school has a better football program!
Unreal. 2 mediocre, invisible teams...each of which might win 8-9 games once a decade.
Carry on boys.
Obviously, SEC fan doesn't watch anything other than SEC games.
It's time to do the math.TheJON wrote:Unreal. 2 mediocre, invisible teams...each of which might win 8-9 games once a decade.
This is true for Kal. But Iowa? We're averaging about 4 or 5 the last few decades, in case you were wondering.
Since Tedford arrived at Cal in 2002 he has NEVER had a losing season. Lets see how the 3 teams stack up over the last 7 years, shall we ?
# of wins during this time period.
Iowa has 59 wins
Cal has 57 wins
Alabama has 55 wins.
Now we must take into consideration that Cal doesn't schedule the "cupcakes" that Iowa and Alabama does for the free wins.
Lets look at some of the teams Iowa and Alabama has played during this time frame. (Remember, that they didn't play these teams just ONCE, but they played some of these teams MULTIPLE times) !!!
And most are HOME games
Iowa....
Maine
Northern Iowa
Florida International
Montana
Syracuse
Ball State
Kent State
Miami (OH)
Buffalo
Akron
Utah State
Now lets look at Alabama's ferocious schedule...
Tulane
Western Kentucky
Arkansas State
Western Carolina
Louisiana-Monroe
Florida International
Utah State
Northern Illinois
North Texas.
Remember, 1 out of every 4 games that Iowa and Alabama plays are against the above teams. One outta every freakin' four games!
Simply UNREAL !
Now with these kind of "cupcake" schedules.... you would think they would have had an extremely large amount of blow out wins.
Now lets do the math again.
Program - # of Blowout Wins (21 or more pts.) since 2002 among BCS
Southern Cal - 49 games
Texas - 48 games
Oklahoma - 45 games
LSU - 40 games
Florida - 33 games
Texas Tech - 33 games
Cal - 32 games
Penn State - 32 games
West Virginia - 32 games
Auburn - 31 games
Louisville- 31 games
Ohio State - 31 games
Virginia Tech - 31 games
Hmmmm.... I don't think I see Alabama or Iowa anywhere on that list.... even though they play 1 out of 4 games against "cupcakes".
That makes Cal's record versus Alabama and Iowa's that much more impressive.
Its obvious that the Southern NECK and the Country "Bumpkin" really don't know much about College Football outside of their of their little rural regions.
Cal would absolutely destroy Iowa and Alabama.
