The "shady" side of CF recruiting...

Post by Blueblood »

Reading SS's thread about Alabama being on the cover of SI and one of the articles on the cover... (Why the BEST RECRUITS Sign with the SEC) reminded me of an article I read about a month ago on how some schools.... mainly the SEC get some of the best recruits.

College Football Soul

This is not surprising at all. I wouldn't be surprised at all if some of the folks at NCAA are also in on this shady side of college football, getting paid to shut their mouth and not truly report what they find.

Why does the guy say USC is paying a street agent when none of the guys he listed that have used street agents wound up at USC? USC is so bad at cheating that theyre paying for players that dont even go to USC?

We know of the Reggie Bush issues at U$C... however, I think that was a bit different than what is discussed here.

Reggie Bush was about agents that would rep him AFTER he left $C, whereas this has to do with street agents getting in with kids and families BEFORE they head off.

I'm wondering if U$C engages in this side of it as well ?

Take it easy m2.....

USC is only cheating because they have to compete against Cal and their 6 wins a year.

USC hasnt cheated, its just popular for those who have been looking up at USCs ass just about this whole century to think USC cheated because they can not compete with the Trojans on the field.

Don't be obtuse. Everyone cheats. College football is a cesspool, it's just a matter of how dirty you want to get. Anyone who things otherwise is kidding themselves. Some do it more, some are better at hiding it. But everyone does it.

well, except for Texas. Mack makes the Dalai Lama look like Dennis Erickson.

I agree with this partially. It's nearly impossible to 100% play by the rules. I would, however, like to say that college hoops is more of a cesspool than CFB. To put it quite simply.......it's real easy to figure out who in college basketball is cheating and who is not based on how good your team is. Some of that goes on in football, but it's far less than you're leading on here. There's a lot of pressure on these coaches to win especially at the top schools. You've got the pressures of winning mixed with having an enormous salary. And these coaches are very arrogant, so yeah.......it's only natural to assume they're cheating.

I've got my list of baseball players that have never been caught juicing and a list of college football/basketball coaches that have never been caught cheating or have only been accused. I rank them from roids constantly/cheats more than anyone down to roided one year/ cheats but not as extreme as others. The obvious biggest roider is Pujols- I mean come on.......you're a dumbass to think he's not one of the game's biggest roiders ever. And then the top cheaters are Petey, Zooker, Bowden, and Tressel.
