"Sorry, dude! My bad!"
Pretty much, the definition of "wrong place, at the wrong time."

I noticed both riders appeared to live. Unrack Darwin.

"Hard to feel much sympathy for someone who dies like that."

Ummm, fellas, that was a link to an awesome MotoGP crash, and the point of it is the poor second guy. It's not a link about some dork tempting Darwin on the street.

Any form of motor racing is pretty much calling chuck out. GP scooter racing is calling him out rather loudly.
As for the hotrod street racers, I pretty much stand and cheer when one of those fukkers cashes it in. Not saying I haven't ever done anything a little bit stupid on two wheels on public roads, but, nothing like these asshats going around blind turns at triple digit speeds. Chuck can't punch their tickets quick enough.

...yea, one needs to keep racing out in the desert where you can't get hurt.

Putting scooter racing in context - I MX'd for 11 years and did Trials for another 10 and to the best of my knowledge never heard of anyone dying in either one of those sports.
Flat track racing was an entirely different story. One of the first flat track dirt races I can ever remember seeing was st the Iowa state fairgrounds around 76. Saw a guy killed when he came off his Harley and into a guard rail. Decided then and there flat tracking wasn't gonna replace my RM any time soon
Re: "Sorry, dude! My bad!"
Yep. It ain't the fall that'll get you, it's the sudden stop.
On the street, it's usually trees, posts and guardrails that cause most fatalities among motorclists. It's usually not a direct collision with another vehicle, though I did watch my best friend die right in front of me, thanks to the grill of an oncoming river rafting bus.
MX is no day at the park, however. No, it typically doesn't create fatalities, but it's sure caused more than its fare share of paralysis.
Road racing? It's good for both.
