There was much speculation that he was being held as a POW, yes... because they never really had any proof that he was dead.

It's a damn shame that poppy Bush lost his nerve in '91 and didn't finish that job then, rather than saving it for W.

Not taking out a douchebag in Iraq has nothing to do with 9/11. I believe that Iraq was knuckle deep in terrorism. I do not think they had anything to do with 9/11. Wagoneer, I'm glad you're concerned for the Kurds Saddam gassed--but please keep in mind that these same Kurds made the very same belligerent demands of an independent homeland following the very clumsy end of WWI--and Winston Churchill ordered them to be gassed from airplanes--good ol' mustard gas, not the modern shit. But the hypocrisy is plain as day. Saddam was simply maintaining the exact national stability that had been designed (with astonishing ignorance) by Churchill himself.
