'Spray, at the mention of Berkeley I always thought of Jimi Hendrix. From the time I was a kid I used to have a "Jimi Plays Berkeley" tape.

Also...freaks. I went there with my first wife, twenty some years ago, visiting a friend of hers. The main street there was like Hollywood Bl in L.A., only way freakier. Crazy number of freaks on that street, roaming around like extras in a George Romero flick. It nearly looked like the heyday of Haight-Ashbury. It certainly made Hollywood look like Mayberry. It actually resembled Venice Beach more than anything else, with the number of freaks.

Blondie's Pizza, I remember that. I can't recall the name of the street, but I remember the freaks, and Blondie's Pizza. Everyone would buy slices from their walk up window, then we'd walk down the street eating these huge slices, to the sound of bongo drums and acoustic guitars.

The other thing was the campus, which had these rolling green hills, and lots of trees. Beautiful place. The wife wanted me to take some "artistic" nude pics of her outdoors, and we ended up choosing various spots on the Cal campus, on a perfect sunny day.

That one weekend visit, however many years ago, that remains the only time I've ever been to Berkeley, but I loved the place.
