You just called the e type ugly.
You are a blind moron and this is quite possibly the stupidest thing you have ever said on this board. And that's saying something.
Now, if you had called the 4 seater coupe version ugly, I might agree with you. Please don't tell me you are refering to the convertible roadster, aka best looking car ever made.

Yeah, the E-Type is very ugly. Unbalanced in its design, it's far too long in the hood, and way too tight in the cockpit. And, no surprise, doesn't handle for shit. The visibility is dangerously compromised by the narrow windows, and if its bumper so much as touches anything it incurs thousands in damages.
What are you comparing it to? This?

or this?

even this American entry shits all over the E-type--aesthetically and in basic engineering

Now, try getting back to the real subject--your mewling attempt to disparage labor unions--and your accompanying myopic ignorance of economics.

I won't argue style with you as it is a subjective.
But, you call the e type out on handling and ...visibility? Yeah, real poor visibility from an open roadster.
What a dumbass.
The jaguar was pretty fucking advanced for it's day with a DOHC engine, 4 wheel independent suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes (inboard at the rear for improved handling). It was basically a production version of the D type that pwned le mans in the late 50s.
Nothing against old bmws, benzes or vettes. They were pretty epcot as well, but, I'll still go with the e type, so long as it's rag top and not an ugly, slow, emission choked later v-12.

You said that by '76 jags were POS. During that 20 yr period they were privately run. Then you blamed it on socialism. Dumbass.

I already admitted my timeline being a bit off. And yes, they were shit by then due to union bullying and ridiculously high tax rates to fund all that free stuff. The gubmint taking them over about that time resulted in an already shitty company turning the sukk up to 11.

Smackie, first--notice that there are NO e-types or xke's on the road. Why? Because they were pieces of shit that no one would want to drive (and maintain) when dozens of better roadsters and sport cars were developed. But...who gives a fuck about old British roadsters?
Your actual point--very lamely offered--sought to blame labor unions for economic decline in Britain and presumably the U.S. But as I've pointed out to you clearly what the real problem is--and you seem in some sort of mental trailer park of comprehension--well, why don't you read up a little on "capital flight" and the island of Jersey, and too the steady--and now explosive--degree of income inequality in America. This is what's really going on. Doubt it?
C'mon, wake the fuck up and get in the game.
