...making the rounds
glassdickmaterial? hitenteranyway
Let me get this straight.
Obama's health care plan will be written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it,
passed by a Congress that hasn't read it and whose members will be exempt from it,
signed by a president who smokes, funded by a treasury chief who did not pay his taxes,
overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that is broke.
What could possibly go wrong?

We thought we weren't getting renewed investigations into detainee interrogations. You know with Obama telling us, after the election, there would be no further inquiries. We thought that despite Obama and Holder telling us they intended to pursue such investigations during the campaign.Martyred wrote:Calm down. You're not getting government health care.
You people get so exited over so little.
Now we have Obama, after his election, telling us there's no intent to create government health care. Yet, before and during the campaign Obama was telling us that he desired a government-controlled health care system.
But we shouldn't be at all concerned, right?
Not at all, eh?

And we don't wait for months for routine treatments or even critical treatments like chemo and dialysis. And where are these true public options you're talking about? Canada outlaws private hospitals and clinics, though the government is currently tolerating their operation. Does Britain similarly outlaw such private institutions?
And despite these supposed true public options, the US still enjoys better actual health care outcomes, e.g., surviving cancer.

Yes, I said better actual health care outcomes.
You see, you're too fucking stupid to recognize that life expectancy is a poor measure of an health care system's effectiveness. Common sense should tell you that life expectancy is affected by factors not at all related to the health care system at all. But you're too stupid to have such common sense.
Now, moron, go look at data about cancer mortality like this - Survival Rates Significantly Higher in United States Than in Europe.
More?
Survival Rates for Specific Cancers. U.S. survival rates are higher than the average in Europe for 13 of 16 types of cancer reported in Lancet Oncology , confirming the results of previous studies.
You damned fool...these are actual health care system outcomes.
Why do you blind yourself to basic common sense?

Sorry, but just because you can cherry pick data doesn't mean it is relevant. The ultimate scoreboard is how long we are living. And every other 1st world country ON THE PLANET does it better than the US. And they do it for half the cost.

Yes, many, many others thar are more relevant.BSmack wrote:And there is a more relevant health care outcome than how long you live?JMak wrote:Yes, I said better actual health care outcomes.
Life expectancy is a better indicator of overall quality of life. hell, the CIA factbook cite you provided says that life expectancy is an indicator of overall quality of life and does not classify it as representative of overall health care system efficacy.
Fucking moron...so do these life expectancy data account for or control of automobile deaths? Murders? Suicides? And the dozens of other non-health care system related deaths that affect the life expectancy in any nation? Of course not.Sorry, but just because you can cherry pick data doesn't mean it is relevant. The ultimate scoreboard is how long we are living. And every other 1st world country ON THE PLANET does it better than the US. And they do it for half the cost.
Life expectancy is a poor measure of health care system effectiveness simply because there are far too many other factors impacting life expectancy than actual health care services.
Why do you not at least acknowledge this? Your simply say-so that it is ultimate measure is meaningless and demonstrates that you have no idea what you're talking in that you're attempting to argue that deaths caused by auto accidents are in any way associated with the health care system.
In short, you're a fucking moron.

Just as you deal with a high deductible to get a discount policy.....you deal with the delays in a government programs for the discounted price.
If I'm paying 50 cents on the dollar for the same coverage (probably better) I'll deal with the delays. And just as soon as the competition plays on the market and betters and makes more affordable the private insurance....I'll switch over.
And save the worst case scenario, terminal illness, momma's gonna die waiting on care from a fed program. Same shit happens with private insurance. Their racket is to wear people down by not paying out on promised coverage. Find bullshit reasons not to pay. Bullshit reasons not to cover needed meds, treatments, and care.
Readily and rapidly collect the premium but kick, scream, bitch and moan when it's time to provide a benefit. Nice fucking racket. I laughed the first time I heard Obama tout his "it will keep these insurance companies honest" garbage. That's so fucking dumb. There are hundreds of insurers out there. They are constantly competing with each other. Adding one more plan on the market isn't going to change that. That's just stupid. In any type of business, when you've got a lot of other companies in the same line of business you've got plenty of competition.
If the government opened a new fast-food restaurant, do you think this would change McDonald's strategy anymore than when a privately owned fast-food joint opens up? This logic is just fucking dumb and you're a god damn Obama parrot that can't think for yourself.

Re: ...making the rounds
There was some dude on TV a few weeks back talking about the health care mess and he had an interesting thought. He said that health care insurance needs to be treated like life insurance. If you buy life insurance at 25, it's dirt cheap. This is because the insurance company realizes that they will receive their jack and not likely pay it out for a long time. Buy it at 55 and you're gonna pay way more.
He said that if they had long term healthcare insurance contracts, the same would apply. It would give an actual financial incentive for healthy young people to get in the system. In our current system, young bulletproof mofos have absolutely no incentive to join. They are healthy. They are unlikely to need major coverage and if they do, so fukking what. They generally don't have much in the way of financial access to protect, so why bother.
And don't anyone even bother with the claims that they won't receive care if they can't pay. That shit might be true in some third world shithole, but, here, everyone gets the care. And they get it faster and better than anyone in the world.
So, it comes down to one simple fukking question. How do you get low riskers to join the insurance pool, thereby reducing premiums for others already in the system? There are 2 ways. Tax the fukk out of everybody (and there are ways around that such as the under the table economy) or you could try the other way. Give folks a financial incentive to do so.

Way to completely miss the guy's point...but that's what you do when you've lost the argument.BSmack wrote:So every other industrialized nation is chock full of people who make great life choices except for the US? Way to blame America buddy.
Well, first, such a public option would never compete, directly or otherwise, with private insurers. For example, the US Pist Office does not compete with UPS and FedEx. It's not competition when the government-subsidized "option" can operate at a loss. Just as there will not be competition between a public option insurance plan and private insurers because like all government programs, the government will have advantages likem for example, having the IRS collect its premiums while private insurers have to cover this themselves (this is one reason why Medicare appears cheaper to run administratively then pruivate insurance).H4ever wrote:I just think that if there were a government option for health insurance that directly competed with the greedy mothafucks in the private health insurance rackets, the competition would be good.
Second, the government is right now in the way of increasing competition as state governments prohibit out-of-state insurers from selling insurance in their state. For example, an insurance firm based in Indiana is prohibited by law from selling insurance in Michigan until that insurance firm ets up shop here in Michigan. This is repeated all across the country.
Competition is good and despite 1500+ federal and state regulations there is all kinds of competition among insurers.
Sorry, but no insurer is obligated to pay for treatments not covered by the insurance plan paid for by the subscriber.Find bullshit reasons not to pay. Bullshit reasons not to cover needed meds, treatments, and care.

No lie, dunce. Obamas popularity has been tanking throughout the Obamacare "debate" and its done so precisely because the people see through Obamas bullying and lying.
