Matthew Stafford

Post by War Wagon »

Saw some highlights on ESPN this morning and the kid looked very impressive, firing some laser beams 20-30 yards downfield. Looks like Detoilet may have finally scored big with a top draft pick.

So, how long before he supplants Culpepper as the starter? I put the over/under at week 3 and I'm taking the under. I believe that along with dirty Snachez, they'll be this years Joe Flacco and Matt Ryan.

And on a side note to any Jackasses reading this, how in fuck did this kid not get drafted or even picked up off the waiver wire... until this morning? That's right you dorks, he's a Crusader now.... Mu-whahahahahahaha!

He had a couple of real nice throws yesterday but he's thrown some brutal interceptions in the preseason...don't let the highlights fool you. He's been very hot and cold. I think the wise move would be to start Culpepper in Week 1 just because he's more consistent and efficient. I can see Stafford getting too cute with a throw and killing a possible scoring drive. I think they've got two young studs on offense with Calvin Johnson and Smith and Pettigrew could be a nice weapon in the passing game as well as on the ground with his blocking ability. This team's problem will remain the defense and they aren't going to be able to keep teams out of the end zone nor do I see them pressuring the passer or being able force turnovers.

That's to be expected with a raw talent. He'll learn from his mistakes, but only if he's allowed to make them in the first place. He's just got too much athletic ability for it to be wasted standing on the sideline watching a washed up has-been in Culpepper... for long.
