uh oh!
Our number 2 corner Jordan Bernstine is already out for the year. We've already got an o-lineman out for a couple games. And now there's rumors about our starting) taking a redshirt and having knee surgery. This is not a good start to the year. Its way too early to be having this many injuries. The Bernstine injury really hurts because his backup is suspended the first 2 games. Next man in I guess!

If not for the injuries, Iowa would have won the MNC.

A lot of teams are dealing with injuries right now. It's the way of the gun. I heard USC lost its starting center and a DE as well to go along with the already gray-looking QB situation. It sucks, but teams with good depth will rebound better than those that do not.

Those injuries combined with bad coaching decisions make for a 3 loss season and a national championship!

Re: uh oh!
L45B, unless there has been recent additional news, O'Dowd's dislocated knee cap is supposed to keep him out of the season opener. It's still uncertain as to whether it'll also keep him out of the game with your guys. If so, that would be a big blow, but at least they have weeks to get ready for it. His sub is supposedly doing well, but the sub is not the number one center in the country, so we'll see.

Does not change my predictions- YET. Anymore and I might have to reconsider. I still don't know for sure if our starting RB will be out or not. Some say he will, some say he won't. My guess is he will. This is his 2nd knee injury this summer and so maybe he should just take his redshirt and get surgery. The Iowa State game is looking tougher and tougher by the day. Its probably going to be a close game.

Only with Tebow's approval, of course.IndyFrisco wrote:Not so fast!L45B wrote:I heard USC lost its starting center and a DE as well to go along with the already gray-looking QB situation. It sucks, but teams with good depth will rebound better than those that do not.

Re: uh oh!
Well, it's official........
Ferentz announced today that Jewel Hampton is out for the year. That is not good. So starting RB and CB already done for the year. Anymore key injuries and we're finished. I just hope the rest of the team can stay healthy.

Ferentz will just have to rely on his epic player development skills to prime the next guy and have him ready to play like a STUD. If I'm not mistaken, Greene was pretty much a nobody last year during the offseason, or at least one of many guys in the mix, before emerging as the starter and eventual all Big Ten RB.

Re: uh oh!
Not really. Greene was the CLEAR starter last year. He wasn't a nobody, it's just that he had flunked out a couple years prior and was out of school and his first 2 years he was behind 2 very good RB's. I had high expectations of him......though maybe not Doak Walker winner high.....I still laugh at all the Iowa State fans that claimed before last season he couldn't crack their 3-deep. They're funny people!MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:Ferentz will just have to rely on his epic player development skills to prime the next guy and have him ready to play like a STUD.
