Turnovers are keeping LSU in this thing, so far. They got a cheap Pick Six, and a Washington fumble on the LSU goal line.
Even despite those things, it's still 10-10. Washington is outplaying them, midway through the second quarter.

I would like John Saunders and Michael Wilbon explain how this is possible.

Iowa played a MUCH better opponent than LSU and escaped. LSU needed Urban Meyer-like luck to to beat a team that probably won't win more than 1-2 games this year.Jsc810 wrote:Props to Washington, I'm glad to see it actually. They're not going 0-12 this year, that's for sure.
I think LSU will be ok here though.
Funny how you were cracking on Iowa for this in the Iowa-UNI thread but not for LSU. Nice.

This Washington team, with Jake Locker back, playing in Seattle, is better than a D1-AA team playing on the road.

UNI campus = 1 hr from Iowa campus. Added intensity + UNI being far superior to U-Dub = tougher opponent at home than playing U-Dub on the road.Van wrote:This Washington team, with Jake Locker back, playing in Seattle, is better than a D1-AA team playing on the road.

U-Dub = 0-12 and probably won't do much better this year. UNI would handle them easily anywhere.

Trust me, I wish we could have such an easy game. Instead, we have to face only the 8th shittiest team in the Pac-10 in a couple weeks. That will be a much more difficult task.Jsc810 wrote:If I was the G0D of college football, I'd schedule Washington and Iowa to play next week.
Re: Hey, don't look now, but the Huskies don't look inept here..
As long as Locker doesn't get hurt again, they won't go 0-12. But the reality is that they wouldn't have gone 0-12 if Locker didn't get hurt last year anyway. They probably should have beat BYU with Locker last year (not the easiest task).
That game last night was misleading, however, because Jefferson for LSU either can't pass or Miles simply didn't want to put it in the gameplan. Did you see how absolutely pathetic the UW secondary looked on the couple occasions the ball was thrown to the outside? The recievers would just sidestep the corner and bolt untouched to the endzone, pretty much every time. That secondary and no QB play was their problem last year. A healthy Locker fixes the second issue. That secondary is just as bad as ever, however.
LSU tried to pound Washington on the ground, and they could grind out a closer win than expected that way. When Washington gets into a more pass happy Pac-10 schedule, its still going to be pretty ugly for them.
Also, how good is LSU? I know they are supposed to be good, but...they weren't really all that good last year so who knows.
Washington is still a 3/4 win team at best, IMO, which is "improvement", but they were a 2 win team last year if Locker doesn't go down in game 4.

Yeah, sure, Cougar fan. U-Dub is going to win the national title. Clearly, that 0-12 last year was a fluke. They were really 12-0 if just a few breaks would have gone their way. They were oh-so close in all those 50 point ass kickings they took to mediocre teams.Go Coogs' wrote:Jon, you're an idiot.

Washington played BYU a lot tougher than Northern Iowa did last year.
