Mucho, are the Bulls ready for the Bearcats?
This Thursday night should be awesome. Of course it's only a big game for our two teams, nothing on the line here at all  The Bearcats have won the last 3 against the Bulls and are going into the game pretty healthy. I think the biggest difference between the two teams is at the QB position. Tony Pike is a senior who has played in several big games and delivered in all of them except the Orange Bowl. USF is starting a QB with little experience but alot of talent. I'll give the Bearcats the edge due to the explosive offense and senior QB. A good start is important though. This is certainly one of the three toughest games left on the schedule with the others being West Virginia and at Pittsburgh. Looking forward to talking about this game for the next couple of days.

Definitely looking forward to this game. I'm sure the team will be ready. I'm not sure how much your old DC will help us, but I have been very happy with how much more aggressive our defense is this year. We'll obviosuly have to get some pressure on Pike and have him force some throws in order to be successful.
I don't think the lack of experience of B.J. Daniels will have any bearing. He has shown some nice poise in pocket and made some very nice throws. It's nice to have the vertical passing game back (Grothe couldn't throw deep with any accuracy or velocity outside of the hash marks), especially since we have a couple of good WR's who can get downfield quickly. I think Daniels poses more problems for opposing defenses than Grothe did because of how well he can throw downfield. Cincinnati's D has made Grothe look bad the last 3 seasons by forccing him to make poor decisions. Not sure what they might try with Daniels.
Good luck!

It's like Coach Kelly said in the paper today, he knows what your DC will try to do defensively and your DC will know what we'll do offensively. It will come down to the players and which team executes better. Besides Daniels who are the key players to USF if they are to win this game?

Defensively - Selvie and Pierre Paul at DE Joseph at LB Allen and Murphy at DB
Offensively - Mitchell, Bogan, Love at WR Ford at RB OL is young, but they have done a good job so far.

An appearance by Brad would be very timely and quite entertaining. I miss seeing him around here. Let me see if I can do a little better so I don't get myself a dryfucking from Brad:
Mucho, you suck and your team sucks. We own your asses and we'll continue to own your ass. We're gonna humiliate our reject DC and show you why we dumped his sorry ass. I wish we had more Nebraska cornfed studs on our team but we don't need them to beat your second rate team. Enjoy being the third best program in Florida because we're gonna how far you have to go come Thursday night. You're in for the dryfucking of a lifetime so don't bring your weak shit in here to me.
Is that better? :D c'mon out Brad, I miss your dumb ass.

It's quite amusing seeing a guy who roots for the second best college football team in the state of Ohio trying to start shit with other programs.88 wrote:Mucho, please return fire.

I could really care less about if Ohio State "is, has been, and will always be bigger" than USF. Most of the programs that are represented on this board have played longer than all of us have been alive, let alone for how long USF has even played.

I also support OSU when their fans aren't being whiney ass babies about being ranked below us. Who gives a shit? Yes, it's nice to be ranked ahead of OSU for a change but in the end it's meaningless after just five games. You'd think the world came to an end though listening to OSU fan whining about it. Like they have some kind of God-given right to be ranked ahead of us. I think it's great for Ohio football that both teams are doing so well and it sure helps us keep our home grown talent here in Ohio.
Back to the focus of the day, South Florida. I can't wait for this game tonight. I kinda wish it was here in Cincinnati though.....42 degrees and rain today :) It should be a great game tonight. I like the Bearcats by 10 in this game, probably something like 27-17.

I am sure you would. Upper 70's and high humidity at game time. That should be a nice help to us since we've been practicing in this weather for the last 2 weeks.CintiBearcat92 wrote: kinda wish it was here in Cincinnati though.....42 degrees and rain today

Especially when everyone in the stadium knew that there was no way that guy was going to pass on that specific play. That was just flat out unacceptable. We had our chances early to open a big lead early and didn't take advantage of it.Believe the Heupel wrote:Instead of hanging their hat on the humidity, probably should have worked on defending the "Second String QB running 75 yards untouched" thing.
Props bearcat92. Good game in which the better team clearly won.

Against a team with its 2nd string qb? Yeah, probably.Sudden Sam wrote:Not tryin' to sound all uppity and shit, but...
Alabama would absolutely destroy that Cincy offense.

I was there yes.Sudden Sam wrote:Mucho, you go to the game? My son called me from the stadium.
Many chances for the Bulls to take control...didn't get it done.
We definitely had our opportunities in the first half. That INT they ran back to our 5 yard line killed all the momentum we had built.

Well, I'd pick Bama to win that game, sure.
But I'd still pick Cincy over LSU.

We did a good job of that early on. Once Pike hit that 3rd and long pass from the 5 for the first down he settled in for the rest of the half.Sudden Sam wrote:Bama wouldn't give Pike time to get set, much less find a receiver.

I am pretty sure it was Selvie. He also forced Pike to fumble a play or 2 before, but Cincy recovered it.

Re: Mucho, are the Bulls ready for the Bearcats?
Well, I'm happy with the win last night without a doubt. Beating a team like USF on the road is a huge win for our guys. Here are my thoughts on what I saw last night:
-I'm very impressed with USF's defense. Pike didn't have any time to throw all night because of the pressure from the defensive line. They stuffed our running game in the first half as well so we were fortunate to be up 17-10 at the half.
-USF had lots of foolish penalties and they're gonna have to put a stop to that. The blatant block from behind on the punt return, the late hit on Gilyard, the guy hitting our O Lineman late at the pile, the PI at the goalline, etc. USF didn't help themselves at all and that DB, as good as he is, was responsible for three of those penalties. They can't afford that stuff in close games. It really cost them last night but we were nearly as undisciplined as they were. Lots of penalties on both sides.
-Daniels has alot of potential but right now he looks like a RB playing QB. Too often what he creates is just from running for his life until someone gets open. Our defense wore him out in the second half and began consistently getting to him so he can't run around like that all the time. He is a very explosive and dangerous player though and he had me nervous in the first half but our D really adjusted to him in the second half.
-Our guys didn't look very good last night but USF was responsible for that. They're a good team and will win alot more games this year. I'm proud of our team for scoring 34 points on that team. That team held a very good FSU offense to 7 points in Tallahassee so I'm really pleased with our effort last night.
-I was proud of how our guys handled the heat and humidity. It obviously took a toll on them in the first half but they really looked like the stronger and better conditioned team in the second half. Our guys have been practicing in 40s and 50's for a couple weeks so that heat and humidity really had an effect in the first half.
-Losing Pike was a bad deal but Collaros played very well. I think that really hurt USF because they prepared for Pike and the spread and then had to adjust to a totally different gameplan and weren't able to do it successfully. Huge props to Collaros and to Coach Kelly who handled the loss of Pike extremely well.
-I was impressed by the atmosphere at the game. GREAT fan support for USF and this was a good night for Big East football. Leavitt has really built a good program down there. This was a really difficult environment for the Bearcats and they really came through. USF should NOT drop out of the rankings based on this game.
