for one thing, every team's fans do this after a close game, jon. they look at the four or five key things THEIR team could have done to have changed the outcome. "handing iowa the game" has nothing to do with iowa since, honestly, we really don't care about iowa other than we just lost to them. we care about michigan. you'd have the same reaction had we kicked a fg and won. it would have been along the lines of "we handed michigan the game... ferentz should have kicked the fg on the 1 to force michigan to score a td... stanzi handed them seven points... we didn't capitalize on their turnovers... etc." and would have resembled nothing close to "michigan played well enough on the road to win."

TheJON wrote: I know this is what m club is saying, but how do they score many more points if we basically just gave them the ball right back where they started? A couple of the turnovers were essentially a "here you go, take 2 minutes off the clock and give our offense a rest and then we'll just take the ball right back".
your explanations of why those turnovers were no BFD inadvertently explain why they were. if michigan had a few extra minutes on the clock then running drob out instead of forcier wouldn't have been a bad decision.

So if Michigan fan is going to cry about "handing Iowa the game", I could just as easily do the same. Take away our "mistakes" and Michigan loses by 800. Michigan never loses. Either their coach sucks or they handed the game away. This is how they act after every loss (not saying m club or the umich fans on this board do, however). You can't possibly beat Michigan, you can only hope to score more points than them!
oh ja, this. i just talked about this. michigan fans are hardly unique in this regard. i'm not going to bitch about kirk ferentz after a game; i'm going to bitch about dickrod.

Iowas is still riding the PSU win. The Hawkeyes do not impress. The vaunted run defense gave up 3 rushing td's to UM and the run d was supposed to be the strength pf the unit. Bottom line, Iowa got fat off of 2 d-1aa (whatever the fuck it's called now) opponents. UM is a 6-8 win team with 3 coming against directionals and a 1aa team this week (assuming they beat Del. St.) and they should have beaten Iowa in Iowa. Enjoy Tampa in January fellas, apparently that's how sucess is measured in corn land.

Iowa is a good team. Anybody who goes into Happy Valley at night and wins by double digits gets my respect.

Steve, if you're going to analyze Iowa could you at least know what you're talking about. First off, we haven't played 2 1-AA opponents. Second off, we also dominated a decent Arizona team. And whoever said we have q vaunted run defense? We give you the run. We rush 4 and drop our LB's into coverage. Why? Because we're damn near impossible to throw on and we force a lot of turnovers. Iowa St, Penn St, and Michigan all have good QB's. Those QB's combined for about 30 percent passing and 8 INT's. We bait teams to run. We know eventually you gotta be able to throw the football. As for Tampa- not a chance in hell do we not AT LEAST make the CapOne Bowl. But even if we did end up in Tampa it still beats the fuck outta where Michigan will be. Nice try but epic FAIL. Try harder next time.

So Iowa didn't have some long streak of not allowing a rushing td? Look it up fucksticks. On the list of teams to be exposed, Iowa is near the top.

And Johnny, you're the one who bailed on your team when the injuries started mounting. You gutless pussy.

Steve, your posts are just horrible and clueless- no offense. The reason we went so long without giving up TD's on the ground is because our defensive philosophy in the red zone changes. Anyone can run the ball on us 20 to 20. Michigan did a nice job inside the red zone. Props to them. Nobody else has been able to do that in a long time. As for me bailing on my team- even more clueless of a statement. I bailed because I got worried about all the injuries? If you're dumber than shit I suppose I can see how one would see it that way. I told you to try harder on your next post. I sincerely hope that wasn't your best effort.

A refresher for John....
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=32784
Please read your own words where you thought a 7-5 season would be an over-achievement. You useless cunt.As fot Northern Iowa and Arkansas St. I figured they were not D-1 because I've never heard of them before. So I guess one of them is, and one of them isn't, I don't know which.

Mace, I'm not even close to bitter about Iowa. I've seen a game of theirs, so I gave my thoughts on what I saw. It may be helpful to many as unless their team played Iowa, most likely never saw Iowa in action, why would they?

Steve,

When do you just quit while you're behind? How many more stupid posts do we have to go through from you in this thread? Whatever happened to "have a take, don't suck"??

Why don't you point me to where I "bailed" on my team. I brought up legitimate concerns, genius.

Fine, Steve, you got it.......

Iowa is the greatest team ever. We are going to win 18,000 games in a row. I have absolutely no concerns ever about this football team.

Do you have concerns about Michigan's team? If so, you "bailed" on your team.

Can we go back to having a decent discussion in this thread now, Steve or are you going to continue failing miserably?
It may be helpful to many as unless their team played Iowa, most likely never saw Iowa in action, why would they?
Arrogant formerly elite program smack = FAIL. Iowa's games in Primetime = 2. Iowa's games on national TV = every game. Nice try, dumbshit.

I can only offer from what I've seen. To me, Iowa doesn't impress. If they are a legit top 10 team they should have handled a young Michigan team lacking any depth with relative ease, but I could be wrong.

John=the gate keeper of good takes. The guy who gave us such gems as "Forcier is a mvscal" and "Michigan cheats". You'll excuse the rest of the board for not recognizing your self-annointed credibility. You have always sucked, but you already knew that didn't you?

To me, Iowa doesn't impress.
Let's see here, Corky...........

6-0 vs a schedule that would be considered relatively difficult by CFB standards. 2 wins in Primetime. 1 road win over a Top 5 team. Victories over teams from 3 different BCS conferences.

Then you factor in we have played the entire season so far or most of the season without our #1 WR, LT, RB, TE and #2 CB along with other injuries. Heck, we just lost our #3 WR to a season ending ACL injury. So add him to the list.

And this does not impress you?

But you say this.........?
You have always sucked
Hilarious.

Link me up to something that prove that you have not always sucked.....I'll wait. You're the guy who answers to =bitch, do the math.

Corky!!! Nice 80's reference. What's wrong, you use all your members only jacket smack on the NKOTB message board?

And yet still, no, Iowa does not impress me. But what fun would this place be if everyone agreed. Well we do all agree that you suck and that is kinda fun.
