I almost don't even care about Boise's abortion of a game with Oregon. It's what they've done since then, and who've they've done it against. They're just not a top 10 team.

Neither is LSU.

The one thing that really makes no sense there is sticking Boise above Cincy. Wtf has Boise done that Cincy hasn't? Cincy's won two real road games, and they've looked far more impressive than Boise in every game.

me thinks that if the heads that be over CFB read more college football message boards we'd have a playoff by now!

Texas should be higher than 3rd. I mean they have played a brutal schedule so far.

Absolutely no shot in hell for that due to politics. 1 loss SEC team for sure will be ranked ahead of them and then USC, Iowa, Miami, and Texas all have to lose as well for it to happen. The voters would never allow it to happen. You'd see a bunch of tards voting Cincy or Boise low in the Top 25 to prevent this from happening. And I can't really argue with them doing so because Boise has no business even being in the BCS, let alone the championship game.

A damned good 7 or 8, anyway.

I don't give a fuck what anybody says - they played Oregon at their absolute worst. Oregon gave them that game on a silver fucking platter. If they were to play that game now, I think Oregon would win it easily by 10+....
Why should it be Boise's problem Oregon didn't play well? They scheduled a top 10 team and beat them. That's a "resume" win. Gotta credit them for it.

I do think 4th is too high though.

Boise didn't play well either though. That Boise-Oregon game set back football to the stone ages. Boise just sucked less.

The OU-Tejas game wasn't much better. That was an abortion of a football game.

Fine, but all things being equal, i.e., both teams sucking, Boise got the job done. In a format that's predicated on surviving and advancing, I won't hold that against Boise. Plus, winning ugly has kind of been the theme of the 2009 season. I don't know if it's the talent gap closing, or a lack of dominant teams. Probably both. Even UF, the team that was supposed to destroy everybody in its wake, has looked pretty uninspiring so far.

You have a point here. Can we really point to any team that's looked outstanding week in and week out this year? I think we just assume Florida, Alabama, and Texas are the best teams- and they might be- but we really don't know because none of them have played tough schedules nor have they looked all that great in most of their games. It's all about winning right now and that's it.

4 Boise State 6-0
5 Cincinnati 6-0

Who is ready for that title game?

I see bama dropping one before the SEC championship and then beating the gates. If Texas chokes, we could see some magic....

I get the disrespect of Boise. I don't agree with it, but I get it. But like it or not, Cincy plays in a BCS conference. If they run the table and get left out of the Coaches Poll MNC game in favor of a 1-loss team, that would be complete horseshit and further expose the BCS for the fraud we all know it to be.

It's too bad for Cincy that Illinois decided to turn into one of if not THE worst BCS conference team, otherwise that would've bolstered their resume.

Gotta say, Cincy does have a pretty shitty schedule. It ain't PSU shitty, but it's pretty shitty.

Because we're all fans, and because we all need something to root for, I love the way we're all still looking at the possible angles and rankings...when, in the end, Florida is going to be selected to win this thing, just like we all knew they would from before the first day of camp.

This entire season is one big

Okay...

If you already play in a mediocre at best conference and you want to be taken seriously...

Don't schedule OOC games that end up in a 67 point win.

Fwiw, Sagarin has the Big East ranked ahead of the Big Ten, at least for the moment. In fairness to Iowa, though, the Iowa State game is legislatively-mandated.

Wow, I don't even know where to begin. First of all, the Big East is highly underrated. We continue to do pretty well against other BCS teams in OOC games so that is a good thing but still not enough. Our bowl record continues to be among the best each year so that is good as well but still not enough. We go out and schedule Oregon State, Fresno State, and Illinois for OOC games this year which is MUCH better than most other teams schedule but still not enough. If we run the table we will have beaten those three teams, USF, UConn, Pitt, and West Virginia but it still won't be enough. We actually go and play good teams on the road. Look at our schedule the last couple of years and the next couple of years and tell me how many teams OOC schedule is better than ours. We went TO Hawaii last year, a team which others have backed out of playing. We played Fresno State this year and again next, a classic trap game. How many teams have they upset over the years? Nothing will ever be enough for most of you guys so it's probably pointless to debate it. I mean shit, we could beat Florida or Bama in the title game this year and it would only be because they weren't up for the game or some lame shit like that. Alabama looked down their noses at Utah last year and got their asses handed to them. Lesson learned? Apparently not.

I just can't believe that so many of you think that other conferences are so superior to the Big East. Most conferences have a significant dropoff after three or four teams. Our first four teams are very strong and would compete very well against the top four of any conference. Cincinnati, USF, Pitt, WVa.....not too shabby. Hell, we even go a couple more decent teams deep in Rutgers and UConn. There are only two teams in the conference that aren't very good, Louisville and Syracuse and those two teams don't suck THAT bad. It's a good football conference. Best in the BCS, no. Worst in the BCS, hell no.

Preach on Cinti.

I'm tired of the bias against the Big East as well. The league schedules well OOC and does very well against OCC BCS opponents. I think the SEC is the only other BCS league who has a better record against BCS OOC opponents. Bowl record speaks for itself, especially in the BCS games.

Hardly any. They schedule everybody, and they often play those teams tough, but they also always lose.

They beat a shitty Rutgers team last year, along with an anemic, 4-8 UCLA team which ended up completely tanking. That's about it, really. Otherwise they just keep finding ways to lose close games to decent teams.

Cinty, the thing you have to realize is nobody else around the nation considers UConn or Pitt to be very good, and W. Virginia is well past their sell-by date. For that matter nobody really buys S. Florida yet either, since they have no signature wins - besides dormant FSU - outside the Big East.

The problem with the Big East is similar to the problem with the ACC: no real dominant team, on a national scale. The Big East and ACC never seem to produce title contenders. They just beat each other up. W. Virginia has been the Big East's flagship program, and they can never seem to get over the hump. Va Tech is the ACC's most successful team in current seasons, and they always seem to lose the big games they need to win. Miami and FSU just haven't been factors in recent years.

Now Cincy is paying the penalty for playing in such a nationally irrelevant conference. USC paid that same price last season when nearly the entire Pac 10 tanked early in the year.

Cincy definitely deserves more respect though right now than Boise, and if they both run the table Cincy had better leapfrog them.

A couple of things, Terry........

1.ISU is probably going to be a bowl team from a BCS conference

2.Where is Arizona on your list of opponents? Ya know, that Arizona team that is going to win 8 games this year. The one Iowa buttfucked in the mouth?

3.Iowa is not legislatively mandated to play ISU and I have no idea where you got that from. We play each other because it's a great rivalry and great for this state. I wish ISU was a better program because it makes Iowa look better for playing them, but there's nothing Iowa can do about that. I still would never want this game to go away.

Iowa's SOS currently ranks #3 in the country and our projected future SOS is #1. We are the ONLY team in the nation to have beaten 3 teams currently ranked in the Top 25 of the BCS polls. If you wanna criticize Iowa's schedule you better criticize every team in the country because no one has played a tougher one.

That's just absurd. Iowa's played one tough game so far, and they've played a D1-AA team plus Arky St.

Just off the top of my head Washington has already played LSU, USC, ND, Stanford, Arizona and ASU.

It's not even close.
