Agreed about only one bad call... But that call carried an inordinate amount of weight.

Remind me to never ask you about officiating. Your officiating knowledge is as shitty as your team.

The coverage by Indiana's secondary has been stellar in the 4th quarter.

Bullshit.

The game is 4 quarters, Iowa is showing that it is the better team.
Sure. There was no luck in Iowa's pick for a TD or the bullshit over turn. That's conservatively a 17 point swing.

I would've loved an upset in this one but at this point, Iowa better not cover the 17.5...

Indiana seemed like a great play today with Iowa losing Robinson last week and they've had so many close games this year.

ND fan is complaining about the bounce of the football? Really?

Without that Irish luck this season, ND would have lost a few more games. Don't get pissed when someone else has some luck as well.
I'm not pissed, nor did I bring up ND. But show me where ND got a bounce like Iowa on that INT and I'll totally agree with you.

Enough of this "scabdick" stuff with Iowa. The point is to win the games. We're so programmed as CFB fans to worry about style points because of the polls and the BCS. Iowa came out with an 18-point win in the end...period. God forbid you turn the ball over a few times or don't win every game by 4 touchdowns. Year-by-year, the talent pool across the nation is more and more spread out where we're just going to see more close games and upsets.

One or two games, fine. But when its that way with the majority of your wins, its scabdicking. Yes, that includes ND this year. Also, when there is a fan of this team on these boards who talks down OSU's NC because of close wins, you bet your ass I'll call out this Iowa team.

Mace wrote:If a "scabdick" win means winning by 18.....I'll be happy if they "scabdick" the final three weeks. Fuck the naysayers....Iowa is 9-0. My apologies to Ricky Stanzi for my homicidal thoughts about him in the 3rd quarter, and props to Ferentz for not benching him after pick #5.

I'm not a Big Ten apologist by any means...frankly, I hate the other teams in this league...but I'm sure most think any team that goes unbeaten from the Big Ten is a total fraud. You had OSU in 2002 win the glass football and they scabdicked their way to 7 wins of less than 10 points and ultimately beat Miami in OT. In the following years, the Buckeyes win the conference then get worked by an SEC team in the bowl game or the MNC game.

I don't think a team should be penalized for "scabdicking" but I can't see Iowa staying undefeated with the way they're playing. Eventually it's going to bite them in the ass, and I think that'll happen in Columbus. Either way though, it's been a great run for Iowa so you gotta give them props.

The game in two weeks at Columbus should be for the Big Ten title unless Penn State beats the Bucks next week. If that happens, Iowa has a two game lead on OSU and a one game lead on the Lions plus the head-to-head win. If they don't go unbeaten, they're at least in great shape win the conference and get a BCS berth.

Mace,

Of course JON. I'm not downgrading Iowa, they are what they are. They remind me of ND in 2002. Great defense, very shaky offense that will likely cost them at some point.

Great call, JSC. I'm known for my ankle biting. :meds: Did your 37 favorite teams win today?

Rack the ’37 favorite teams’ comment.

Killian, letting Jsc get under your skin regarding CFB is like the 10 year old boy who lets his 5 yr. old sister get under his skin. Dude, let it roll off your back. This is Jsc we’re talking about here.

Sounds like I need to do another research project...how many "scabdick" wins have recent MNC teams had each year? 8)

What do we call a "scabdick" win? Anything less than 10 points? A loss where a team trails or is tied going into the fourth quarter? A close win over a bad (sub-.500) teams?

Nobody cried about Florida in 2006 or tOSU in 2002 winning in similar fashion. Just so everyone knows, Iowa has NOT taken one single lead (besides MSU game) with less than 10 minutes to play in any game this year. People assume we're scoring on fluke plays to win games but the truth is most of our games have been over with about 8 minutes to go. Whatever. People can cry all they want, but we are 9-0 and have a 13 game win streak. Keep hating, we'll keep winning. Rack this team for pissing off CFB's "elitist" tards! How dare a team not considered an elite program try and win a national title!!

Northwestern's offense is extremely annoying. They could lose 47 straight games, and be in a position to win every single one of them...somehow. Keep your defibrillator handy for that one, Mace.

N'western will dink and dunk between the 20s...that's what they do. The key is to get Kafka into 2nd and 3rd and longs because he cannot throw the ball further than 10 yards. The fact they have zero running game though makes stopping that annoying little offense much easier than it has been in years past.

I actaully have a D3 team I pull for pretty bigtime (even though I didn't go to school there, but I have close friends who did, and my bestest-football-watching-bud lives damn-near across the street).

I rooted for Florida until my grandpa died. I was never die-hard but I really liked Spurrier and considered going to UF. Used to go to the Iowa game and tape the Florida game and watch it later. I really don't know why I stopped caring. I still like to see them win but I don't get overly excited. Nothing wrong with having multiple teams you root for as long as it's got nothing to do with bandwagon reasons. I also like to see Drake and UNI win and sometimes Iowa State. Though, I only root for ISU in years they lose to Iowa.

It might also reflect that you play a weak fucking schedule and are extremely overrated due to the Texas bias.
Sat. 09/05/09 Panthers Northern Iowa Won 17-16 ---
Sat. 09/12/09 Cyclones at Iowa State Won 35-3 ---
Sat. 09/19/09 Wildcats Arizona Won 27-17 ---
Sat. 09/26/09 Nittany Lions at Penn State Won 21-10 ---
Sat. 10/03/09 Indians Arkansas State Won 24-21 ---
Sat. 10/10/09 Wolverines Michigan Won 30-28 ---
Sat. 10/17/09 Badgers at Wisconsin Won 20-10 ---
Sat. 10/24/09 Spartans at Michigan State Won 15-13

You beat LOL Northern Iowa by 1. Arkansas State by 3. A horrible Michigan team by 2. Blah Spartans team by 2. Have you even taken a look our our defensive stats against the teams we've played? Oklahoma, UTEP whose putting up 400 ypg yet we held them to 50 now Ok State which had one of the top ranked offenses, and we raked them AT THEIR HOUSE?

I admit, our schedule is weak as nobody saw the Big 12 South being this bad this early, and I also see one defensive team team on your schedule that is decent. Your team had a miracle of miracles to beat fucking Indiana for Christs sake. If Texas was to play Iowa right now, the Longhorns would win by double digits. You haven't faced a defense like theirs. You haven't faced a good spread offense like theirs. How many yards does Iowa allow a game vs. Texas? Talk about overrated and bias on the Iowa fans part, lol. Nobody really takes your team serious, but props and stuff on finally having a good season in like 50 years, but at Texas, it's expected, and happens every year. Keep your hopes up n00b.

Texas is..
#1 in Total Defense (based on yards per play)
#3 in Total Defense (based on yards per game)
#1 in Run Defense
#5 in Pass Efficiency Defense
#2 in Interceptions
#2 in Turnovers
#1 on Special Teams

We will roll the rest of our schedule, win the Big 12 and play an SEC team in the championship game. You'll play in your first BCS game is forever. Props and stuff.

Not sure why you are so worried about this. Should the SEC refs succeed and insure a Florida/Bama CCG, you'd leap the loser after that no matter.

Shutting down Okie State's offense without Dez Bryant = so easy a caveman could do it.

Wow, congrats on beating UTEP, Wyoming Community College, and whoever the fuck else you played non-conference. Seriously, dozens of retards throughout this country are quite impressed.

Who else have you played? Taco Tech? Ahahahahaha! Ooooohhhhhheeeeeeeeeyyyyyyy!!!

Okie State? fraud.

Oklahoma? Congrats on getting your ass kicked and winning by 3 points thanks to Oklahoma playing quite possibly the most pathetic half of football EVER. If OU was any good they would have scored 40 in the first half.

Iowa's road wins over Penn State and Wisconsin are better wins than ANY win Tejas has. Mix in the fact that we also have a quality OOC victory over a quality Pac-10 opponent and a road beatdown of a Big-12 team that will probably make a bowl game.

Texas is simply rated ahead of Iowa because of name. But your resume isn't even remotely close to Iowa's. You'll play for the national title. We'll go to the Rose Bowl, if we go unbeaten. But the only reason for it is because you'll go through an entire season without beating 1 fucking team that's worth a shit.

Hell, your 2 best wins were against teams without their offensive weapons (OU, Okie St). Man, your defense must really be amazing!

Iowa 24
Texas 17

McCoy would shit his pants facing a defense like this. He never has to do that in the Big-12 except against OU and we saw how that went for him. What were his stats in that game? 9-50 for 8 yards and 10 picks or something like that????
