1.Florida. They're the defending champs, and they're unbeaten.
2.Alabama. Maybe the most impressive team, but until they beat Florida, I gotta put them #2
3.Iowa. Texas hasn't played even close to as difficult of a schedule as Iowa and so the Hawks belong here.
4.Texas. Shit schedule. We really don't know how good they are. We just know they're very good.
5.Cincinatti. Unbeaten. Win by big margins. Can't say anything else nice about them because they don't have any good wins.
6.Boise State. Beat Oregon. That's about it. What a joke of a schedule.
7.TCU. BYU only quality win. Blowing out teams though.
8.Oregon. Definitely better than Boise despite loss. Nobody playing better right now. But due to Boise loss, they don't deserve to be ranked ahead of them even though they're the better team.
9.LSU. I gotta say, I am not sure if there's a more improved team from start to current than LSU. Chance to prove just how much they've improved on Saturday.
10.Penn State. Great defense. Offense has some good young players. We will know just how good they are after the tOSU game on Saturday.

Yeah, but that win over San Jose State was quite impressive! :DCan't bring myself to put Boise in the Top 10 with a 1-0 record against a D-I team.

What's wrong with that statement? We know Texas is a very good team. We just don't know if they're a GREAT team. We won't know until the BCS comes around either. I'm not sure what's so outlandish about that statement, but whatever floats your boat.MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote::?We really don't know how good they are. We just know they're very good.

That's actually a pretty good analogy.Maybe that's like getting your first piece of ass and, while we knew it was very good, we didn't know how good until having something to compare it to.

Re: Your Top 10 for 11/1...
Hmmm, no thanks. Sorry but if we're going to leave the Big East (which we won't) I'd rather take a step UP. The Big East is just as good at the Big 11 if not better. I'll take our eight teams against your top 8 and I'm betting we win at least half of those games. The Big 11 is going downhill and the Big East continues to get better each year. I'm happy where we're at but thanks for the invite.Mace wrote:1-Florida

My top 10:
1. Texas
2. Florida
3. Alabama
4. Cincinnati
5. Iowa
6. TCU
7. Boise State
8. Oregon
9. Georgia Tech
10. LSU/Penn State tie
I'll say it right now, I think we're as good as anybody. I've watched all these teams play multiple games and I have yet to see a team that I truly believe is any better than Cincinnati. I have three teams ahead of us not because I think they're better but because I think they've EARNED those rankings more than we have to this point, usually because of an impressive win or two that we can't match yet. All that aside, I'm in a similar place as Jay Duck. I KNOW we have an outstanding team but I also know that even if we run the table we probably won't make it into the championship game unless a couple upsets occur in the last few weeks. I'm not going to bitch and complain about it. I'm just enjoying this season and I know if the Bearcats do their job and handle what is in their control then we'll be rewarded with a matchup against Florida, Alabama, Texas, or Iowa and they'll get a chance to show just how good they are. This year is a perfect example of why we need a playoff but we don't have one so I'm just going to enjoy what will be some of the most interesting bowl matchups we've seen in some time.
