I was completely beside myself. I cannot believe those two plays went to review, and they still fucked them up. Actually...I can.buckeye_in_sc wrote:yeah they also FUCKED MSU last night...dude catches a pass...takes TWO FUCKING STEPS and then gets Whalloped...fumbles...MSU recovers...but they over turn...un fucking real...of course I am pissed because it cost me a parlay but still a shit call...
And I never bitch about the refs...that's how you know it was bad. Oh well, they still played like shit and deserved to lose.

Re: Indiana vs. Iowa
Thanks to our asshole administration they don't let us see replays of the questionable calls at Kinnick. But I did see the replays and there were some bad calls against Indiana. Do I think the reffing was biased? It's possible. It really is.
But with that said, only 1 of the calls actually impacted the game.
The helmet-to-helmet call was complete BS. I actually thought it was the right call in the stands and I was sitting very close to the play. But the camera view on TV looked really bad. However, that call had no impact on the game because we turned the ball over on the next play anways.
The review on the TD that I also felt they got wrong had no impact on the game as well because they scored on the next play.
The other TD overturned on review WAS the right call. His knee was the first thing that came down and it was out of bounds. His foot then came down, in bounds, after. It's hard to tell if you don't look at the turf to see if any paint pops up. You can see when the paint pops up and it was after his knee had touched down out of bounds. It's the only way to really tell when his foot actually hit the ground. Even if it was the wrong call, that only makes up for 7 points of an 18 point deficit.
Iowa also did have a HUGE play overturned on a questionable call. It's really hard to tell, and normally that play sticks with whatever they called on the field. I saw the replay 5 times and I'm still not sure if it was or was not a catch. 20 yard pass in a spot where Iowa really needed a big play called back. Ended a potential key drive. I honestly think the refs felt like they HAD to overturn the call. If they didn't, they'd be hearing about conspiracy theories so I think they decided to overturn this call when 99% of the time that play is not overturned.
There were a couple other minor bad calls that went against both teams. The refs did not have a good game. But Iowa scored 28 points and had 260 yards in the 4th quarter to win by 18. I saw no bad calls in the 4th quarter. The reffing had NOTHING to do with the outcome of this game. Indiana's lack of knowing how to win football games and Iowa making plays decided this football game. Period.

To be honest, I can't tell one way or the other. I'll admit, they normally don't overturn that. So fine, we win 42-31.Mace wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lufqKaPE ... re=related
Here's some slow motion of the TD supposedly stolen from Indiana. I thought they got hosed but you judge for yourself.
I'm cool with that. Can DJK have that 20 yard reception back too, while we're at it???

Re: Indiana vs. Iowa
Fine, it was a trap. It makes no difference. We won. Not because the refs dicked over Indiana. We won because we put up 260 yards and 28 points in the 4th quarter because Indiana couldn't stop it. They don't know how to win football games.Killian wrote:That was a trap, JON.
The only disputed play that actually mattered was the overturn on 1 of the TD's because they ended up missing a FG on that drive. The other plays didn't matter. Why won't any of the crybabies out their mention the truth on what happened AFTER these alleged bad calls? The BS helmet-to-helmet (which I have acknowledged was a bad call), for example...........we turned the god damn ball over the next play. So how did that call impact the game??? Or the other TD that was overturned........why doesn't anyone mention they frickin' scored on the next play anyways????
So even if we give them the other disputed TD, we enter the 4th quarter down 31-14 instead of 24-14. That still doesn't prevent them from giving up those 28 points that had nothing to do with the refs. Indiana chokes. They choked against Michigan. They blew a 25 point lead last week to Northwestern. And they choked against Iowa. Indiana choked and Iowa made plays. That's why Iowa won. Not because of the god damn refs.
I'm not singling you out here, Killian, so don't get all pissy. I'm just annoyed by the constant outcry of people claiming conspiracy from the Big-10 officials when they don't even have their facts straight.

Re: Indiana vs. Iowa
I see what you're saying Mace. For example, on the shitty third down spot, IU got Iowa to jump off sides the next play, still was forced to punt only to have Iowa fumble on a stupid play.
I admit that I was quick on the scabdick comment. I'm just fucking sick of Big 10 officials and the way they handle replays.

Anyways, I agree on the Big-10 officials. I can't defend them. No one can. They've got issues, and have for a long time.
The replays in CFB have gotten out of hand. We're reviewing plays that should not be reviewed. Everything that's even remotely close is reviewed and it gets rather annoying. You give the coaches challenge flags and if they want it reviewed, they can risk a timeout to have the play looked at. It's gotten to a point where every game seems to have a dozen plays reviewed and it's ruining the game. If a coach wants a play challenged, throw a flag and put a timeout at risk. Otherwise, whatever is called on the field will stand.

Re: Indiana vs. Iowa
The guy that runs our Pick 6 pool last year went onto the website and gave everyone a win that picked the Steelers to cover in that game where the refs jobbed them of that meaningless TD at the end. He claimed the game was "fixed" by Vegas. As you can guess, he picked the Steelers. Those that hadn't paid threatened to never pay and the rest of us sent him nasty emails. He ended up changing it back the next week. But it was very lame. Total BS on his part.Great!
88, add that win to my total for last week's picks.
