The Packers' single season record is probably toast. And he has a decent shot at taking the single QB record from David Carr. Except unlike Carr, most of Rodgers sacks are his own fault.

If the Chiefs offense wasn't 3 and out so many times, I'm pretty sure Cassell would own that record

I haven't actually seen Cassell play. Is the O Line that bad or does he...
Not know how to check down...
Never read the secondary beyond his first two options and...
Hold onto the ball twice as long as he should?
Maybe that's just Cal training.

Re: Aaron Rodgers-getting some recognition...
Their line is terrible but some of those sacks have been well-documented as cases where he just holds on the ball too long. He runs relatively well...why not tuck and run? Or other cases, just throw it in the third row and keep your team out of third-and-long...ie--another opportunity to get sacked.
Re: Aaron Rodgers-getting some recognition...
The line is that terrible, but just like you saw at NE he also holds the ball too long meaning he isn't progressing through his reads fast enough and commiting- at least that's what I would think it means

Yes, maybe, maybe, and most definitely YES, he holds onto the ball too long. Cassel seems in mortal fear of throwing an INT, so much so that he'll eat the ball rather than put it up for grabs or gasp... throw it away.Diogenes wrote:I haven't actually seen Cassell play. That said, dude takes a lot of punishment and keeps getting back up. If nothing else, I've been very impressed with his durability. If that was Brokie Croyle back there, he'd have been in a full body cast after one week of that abuse.
