I clicked on Sportscenter last night and Van Pelt was anchoring. They opened with the Syracuse game. He was laughing while saying no less than 10 times "Syracuse, in a game that means nothing." It fucking reeked of "Move along. Nothing to see here."

Fucking ESPN. Trying to joke it off so no one thinks less of a northeast team.

This is starting to happen more often. Michigan State lost to Grand Valley a couple years ago and have been taken to the wire a couple other times in exhibition games. Coaches are rotating lineups and getting a feel for their younger players in these games while the DII team, or whoever, typically has its starting 5 out there and is going balls out to win the game. Still not acceptable to lose, but it does happen and really doesn't foreshadow a whole lot.

There you have it, the Cuse come out early and crush a top 15 team.

btw, does Cal ever tire of being an overrated piece of shit? Getting shit-hammered by a Johnny Flynn-less Syracuse team?

UNC 39 Cuse 37 at the half. this "Orange" team could have been pretty mighty with Flynn and Devandorf.....but, hard to pull for them given every year the ESPN honks trying to argue that a 17-15 Cuse team deserves to be in the tournament.

I hope my boys aren't peaking in November. I'm cautiously optimistic for the season. Didn't have high hopes considering the talent they lost from last season but I'll take mauling the #4 & #12 teams in the country.
