CU/NU at-game

Post by MiketheangrydrunkenCUfan »

Well, it looks like I'm flying solo on this one. Mom and sis don't want to go, the handful of CU fans I know have no interest, and KC has plans in Denver. Heading out from Westminster now. Hoping to scalp cheap ticket. I'll post my thoughts during the game. Fuck 'em up, fuck 'em up, go CU!

Found an upper level ticket for $30. Probably couldve held out for less, but I didn't really feel like missing the kickoff. Scalping tix is always a crapshoot. Paid some tailgaters for a keg cup. So far, so good.

beautiful day in Colorado. watching here in my buddy's study in Denver. he's visiting his folks, but the gf and her friend (buddy's wife) are off to lunch.

babysitting the kid. he's a cool kid, but he's asleep hopefully for the duration. fridge is stocked with beers. nice single malts in the pantry, too.

MiketheangrydrunkenCUfan at game checklist:

1. Bag of marshmellows (he knows)
2. Handbook of football profanity
3. Automobile paint scratching device (i.e. ice pick; also works great for deflating over inflated tires)
4. Can of gold spray paint (In case ice pick wasn't on hand)
5. Size "D" batteries (No snow in stadium alternative)
6. Balloons (Just in case the urban legend is more than a legend)
7. Proper stadium in-game exiting map (In case ticket happens to be in student section; a.k.a. premature ejection. A tradition unlike any other.)
8. Be sure to humilate an entire family dressed in red; from dad to little sister. (These farm f*cks have no business in our pot smoking stadium)

Have fun!

same old Hawkins Buffs so far. field a punt inside the 5 (wtf?), losing the field position game, anemic on O, terrible special teams and dumb penalties (turn 3rd and 1 into 3rd and 6 with motion).

Wow. Buffs are looking preety awful so far. My coverage is spotty from my seat. I'm showing full bars, but this page won't load. Ducked out for a smoke just so I could post. Buffs need to set a goal of crossing their own 20. Baby steps...

Mike, my experience at the MU game this year was you got to go to the concourses to get any real connectivity. of course, can't read this if pages won't load.

cleaver, KC, clever.

Yeah, that definitely seems to be the case. I've scrolled through several wifi networks, as well as AT&T's notoriously sketchy 3G, but nothing works in the stadium proper. Back at the keg now. Hoping for a comeback a la '07. Put in Cody, goddamnit!

Edge network to the rescue. Heading into the fourth. Buffs need a stop here.

if i hadn't seen OU this year, i can't believe how CU beats themselves so many ways this year.

Colorado special teams are the worst i've ever seen. from floor to floor. fumbles, missed kicks, can't defend punt return...etc.

Sorry for going AWOL for a bit there. Bad coverage plus low battery makes for difficult posting. Pretty sad performance today, all around. I guess the D played fairly well for most of the game, but I think the inept offense/special teams just took the fight out of them. Props to Nebraska for playing a smart, conservative game. Pelini obviously did his homework. Give the Buffs enough chances, and they're guaranteed to beat themselves. Oh well, there's alway the year after next year...
