this game includes the single funniest play i've ever seen. OU is draining the clock in the red zone. fumbles (that's how we do in 09), OSU recovers with a straight path to the end zone. OU TE Ratterree chases the guy down, despite a wall of OSU blockers, and strips the ball and recovers it himself. the home crowd goes batshit nuts. OU takes a knee after a 70 yard loss. preserves the shut-out.

I think the outcome of this game only eliminated OSU from being Iowa's opponent in the Fiesta and probably put Boise State in the game. I'd guess that Iowa will be the Fiesta's first pick.

I dunno, I think Boise was ahead of us in the pecking order because they're unbeaten. Could be wrong, but I can't imagine them wanting to deal with the public outcry for leaving an unbeaten team that beat the best team in the Pac-10 out of the BCS.

I'm pretty sure that, #1, the Fiesta is wanting those 50,000 Iowa fans in the seats and spending large sums of money over New Year's weekend, and, #2, finding an opponent. Iowa will have to be their first pick because Iowa won't be available after that....either because the Orange Bowl takes them, or, more likely, the Orange takes Penn State and uses up the Big Ten's second BCS participant with them. I could be wrong too, JON, but everything I've heard and read says that Iowa is going to the Fiesta to face OSU or Boise State, and OU cleared that up yesterday. Stoops may not feel like he's done his Alma Mater any favors, considering what Boise did to him a couple of years ago.

But didn't Boise travel very well for the Fiesta a few years ago? I'm not saying they'd have more fans than Iowa, but they wouldn't be outnumbered like USC fan was in 2002.

I would love to face Boise State. I think it would make for a great game and I bet Boise fans are actually non-douchebags like fans of teams like USC who think they're so much better than everyone because their football program is elite. Would imagine Boise and Iowa fans are very similar. I know the biggest thing in each state is their football programs. Plus, I have never seen them play in person and I respect their program. I just wish they'd get rid of that stupid blue turf. They don't need that anymore. They're above that. Big-time programs don't have blue turfs and Boise is a big-time program.
