A guy I work with volunteers at several golf tourneys every year including the Barclays this year. His opinion of the guys on the tour, with the exception of guys like VJ Singh, is completely opposite to what you say. Realize he volunteers at these tourneys and forks over $50 + any hotel costs to walk the course with these so called "douchebags." Now maybe you've done the same can had a bad experience but I'll go with his experience over your opinion.
As for the posses of trainers these guys accumulate.. it's no different than virtually any other sport these days. They money is too good NOT to do anything you can to gain an edge or improve your game just a little bit.

Plenty of professional sports organizations keep sports psychologist on retainer. The Braves have been doing it for years.
I'll concede that the use of a life coach is grounds for douchebaggery but I have my doubts about how many professional athletes, PGA included, employ one.

Report: Tiger's Wife Gets New Prenup
We know have a reason for why Tiger Woods has been locked in his house for six days: his wife is reportedly getting a new prenuptial agreement and has already received a big cash payment.
The Chicago Sun-Times says Woods and wife Elin Nordegren Woods are engaged in "intense" marriage counseling.
The negotiations allegedly included a new financial agreement for Nordegren Woods if she agrees to stay married to the wayward golf superstar.
Sun-Times columnist Bill Zwecker says Nordegren has already received a "seven-figure" payment from Woods, transferred direct to a bank account.
In the current prenup, Nordegren gets $20 million if she stays married to Woods for another five years.
Nordegren is believed to be seeking a deal with more money and a shorter time frame.
In a statement Wednesday on his Web site, Woods acknowledges indirectly he has strayed. He said he made "transgressions" and he has not been "true to my values and the behavior my family deserves."

Florida state police also released photos of Woods' SUV, which show two windows entirely smashed by Nordegren. They were the middle windows in the SUV, not the front-seat windows where Woods had been the driver.

Along with a detailed interview with cocktail waitress Jaimee Grubbs, who claims she had an extended affair with Woods, Us Weekly talked to people in Orlando who paint an image of Woods that differs from his public persona.
“Contrary to his reputation as an upstanding Stanford grad, to numerous Orlando locals Woods is known as an unfriendly star who tips badly and gruffly turns away children,” the magazine says.
A source also told the magazine Woods had a separate phone number he gave out to women.
Us Weekly also says Woods is involved with a third woman, a Las Vegas hostess.
The New York Post and Life & Style magazine identified the woman as club manager Kalika Moquin.
Life & Style, quoting a source close to Moquin, said Woods "wasn't happy in his marriage or his home life and that there was just so much pressure on him."
"They've hooked up a bunch of times" over the months, the source said of Woods and Moquin. "Tiger told Kalika that married life isn't all it's built up to be."
A source confirmed the relationship the Post.
The Post said Moquin was unable to be reached on Tuesday for comment. Her employer, the Light Group, which runs The Bank nightclub, refused to comment to the Post.
Woods' lawyer, Mark NeJame, declined to comment to the Post, referring questions to Wood’s agent. The agent, Mark Steinberg, did not return a call or e-mail request to the Post for comment.

Please. There isn't a gathering of golf fans anywhere on earth where Tiger only receives "grudging respect." By and large, Bethpage wildly suports the guy, same as any other gallery wildly suports the guy.
