I still really dig Twisted Sister's Xmas album from a couple years ago. They just did a fantastic job of adding a hard rock/metal element to traditional Xmas songs while still retaining the original spirit of the songs. After listening to some of Rob Halford's painful new Xmas album, it gave me an even better appreciation for what TS pulled off.
Another cool one I found while poking around on the internets was Bright Eyes' A Christmas Album. I wouldn't call myself a Bright Eyes/Connor Oberst fan by any stretch, but the dark, mopey vibe of this album really does it for me, especially the version of "Blue Christmas." It's kind of fun when these songs pop up in a holiday playlist shuffle.
For a little more traditional stuff, I like Chris Isaak's and Diana Krall's albums, and you can never go wrong with the Rat Pack.
