Ronnie Dio cancer

Post by Wolfman »

Sad news. Cortland NY's own Ronnie James Dio (Padavona) has cancer. T's and P's for a rock legend.

That guy was comically god awful. Too bad about the cancer though.

Swhati'msayin.

If you want to make a chick laugh, you play some Dio, pump your fist, and laugh at yourself. If you want to make a chick laugh at you, you play some Dio and assume no sarcasm.

The "Mob Rules" is a favorite of mine. More telling is that Tony Iommi looks like he had more influence on Eddie Van Halen than Eric Clapton allegedly did. I see the same scales and usage of the vibrato bar.

I was in attendance at the US Festival 83 concert when Eddie discouraged me from playing for years.

BTW, anybody know what Ronnie's prognosis is due to there being possible surgical interventions currently available?

AP, I can see why that performance discouraged you from playing. Nearly that entire 'solo' was repetitive gimmickry. It discouraged me from ever wanting to tap.

Man, has EVH gotten lapped.

Sam, Heaven And Hell may be Sabbath's best work. It's right there, with Paranoid, and I'd say it's better, top to bottom...and it's Dio, not Ozzy.

Sam, one of the main reasons I say it's Sabbath's best work is I think - and even 'Spray seems to agree - that it's Iommi's best work. He's light years better on H&H than he was on the early Sabbath records.

Tardowned, I AM a nurse now waiting for my license. Never a SEAL but have done the other shit. What's your point?

Van, I was there at US 83 and saw some great bands. The Scorpions put on the absolute best show. When =VH= FINALLY decided they would take the stage, Dave was extremely wasted when he jumped on stage and proceeded to piss off Ed and Al. Mostly Al was pissed.

SS, I've been watching this Dio video over and over as it's totally cool. BS, thanks for that link! Can't stop watching it!

AP, I was there at the US Festival too, although on a different night. I was there for the U2/Bowie/shitload of chick singers night, not the Hard Rock night.

I went the wrong fucking night. I fell asleep during the show.

Tardowen has heard rumors. All I did was verify that the "performers" were of legal age due to U.S.c. 2257 or something like that. 6 week temp shit job that I regret accepting.

Van, I think Country day was the 1st, Punk/Alternative was the 2nd/ and hard rock was the 3rd. Hotter than hell there during the day. Glen Helen park? It was in the split between the 15 and 215 near San Berdoo.
