5th time is the charm?

Post by War Wagon »

As this is being written, Northwest Missouri State is up 21-0 early 2nd half. This is the 5th straight year they've made it to the championship game in Florence, Alabama where they've been denied in heartbreaking fashion the previous 4 times.

They're playing Grand Valley State, the very same team that ripped their hearts out in 2005 and 2006.

Game is on ESPN 2.

Go Bearcats

The Linfield Wildcats just got knocked out of the D3 playoffs.

Bummer. Wisconsin-Whitewater is a D3 beast.

That's it, OK. You gotta do this for me. Huge. Quickly. All right. Bye."

Yeah, e should be in here partying like an animal.

Congrats Bearcats on finally getting that monkey off your back. Coach Mel Tjeersdma (sp?) is a fucking god.

At least one team in Missouri can now call themselves champions.

Linfield has the longest streak of consecutive winning seasons of any CFB program at any level -- 54 and counting (undefeated in the reg. season this year).

I don't think any program, D1 or otherwise can touch that. Picked up some NAIA Championships in the Old Days (like when I knew guys playing there), and have won a D3 (2?) title since they moved up.

D3 is kind of like HS ball, only with much better execution.

Nice job Bearcats. They deserved the win for having come so close.

He might have went to the game. I am just getting back from it.

Congrats NW on your 3rd NC.

Ugly first half and could've been worse if Council didn't get the ball ripped from him near the end zone. The Lakers at least made it a game but Council was a beast like Xavier Omon did a couple years ago. Props to the Bearcats on another title.

Yeah. I always thought if you got stood up and tackled back two yards, they would blow the whistle. Never heard a whistle though.

The refs sucked for both sides.

Jake Soy for NWMST is awesome as well. Both him and Bolles come back. I wouldnt be surprised to see NW win it again next year.

I'm sure the party is on in Maryville tonight, really a nice little college town. My brother went to school and lived there for awhile in the late 70's - early 80's where he and his wife burped up 3 kids. Damn near moved there myself, once upon a time.

Damn proud of those NW boys.
