Landry just announced that a deal is there and he'll be announced as early as Monday. I think the Seashits will make a turnaround and go 10-6 next year as the Cards fade and 49ers go 8-8 again. And Carroll will get a shitload of credit. It's not inconceivable for them to win the division since it's a shit division.

Never was impressed with Carroll as an NFL head coach. I think he was a decent D coordinator. Like Norv Turner, he has much to prove. He probably should have stayed at USC, where he had the benefit of a stacked deck in terms of personnel. Something he won't have in the NFL.

I agree with Joe, except he probably needed to bail out of SC before the shit hits the fan there. I don't see him fairing any better then he did with his first two HC stints.

That "yeah rah rah" shit doesn't fly in the NFL. I am not sure he's unqualified, he just needs to relate to actual pro players better. He got laughed out of NE becuase he lost his players' respect. Had a decent 1st season... then they just tired of his act.
