the one i have just conked out(internal),so i need to get one that's dece and compat with XP.

Why not get another internal drive? You can probably pick one up for about $50.

external burners are handy as hell for fixing other pc's and stuff.
I like the hell outta mine and recommend them myself;)

Hey D - I was looking into getting an external HD. I have 5 Computers located in three different places I need to back up, I thought I'd get like a 200 plus Gig Ext HD and roam the country side collecting back up data.

What say you? ;)
