I would post this at the "no smack zone" but I don't have a password. Pretty easy--I aced it.

I missed Cuyahoga, but I knew that one. I was a little confused, it was so early in the morning.

Got North and South Dakota mixed up. That was a 50/50 guess for me.

10/10, but I've only been to one of 'em, and I got the Isle Royale one because of smackie's post. Otherwise, that one would've been a coin toss.

Acadia sounds pretty bitchin'.

The funny one is their "World leader or NFL placekicker?" quiz. I fuggen got one of those wrong! Goddammit! I was thinking of Rafael Septien!

I figured 88 probably had been to most of them and was going to put that into the original post. While at college at the U of Maine I was in Acadia quite a few times. Some nice rock climbing places, but no I did not go up early in the morning and watch the sunrise on top of Cadillac Mountain. Should have done that too !

Acadia is kind of a scaled down big sur. Absolutely beautiful. Prettiest spot on the east coast, imo.

went back and modded my first post so as not to spoil it for anyone. i'll bet isle royale will trip up more than the others. some of them you can get just using a little bit of geographical sense. if you see mountains in the picture and you guess florida, you are a grade a dumbfukk.

As much as I love Big Sur, then yeah, Acadia must be really awesome. I bet it has a cool, spooky vibe.

Of all the ones on that list, that's the one I want to see the most.

I'll need a link to that... It's always been my understanding that baseball was created during the American Civil war by soldiers.

biggest tides are actually a few miles up the coast in the bay of funday, new brunswick. tides are something like 40 ft. amazing. i've been to downtown st johns, NB where there is a section of harbor where there is white water....in both directions. it goes one way when the tide is coming in, the other when it recedes. NB is a cool place.

Bay of Fundy also has some pretty freaking cold water-- fed by the Labrador Current. Years ago there were proposals to harness the tides for production of electricity. Have not heard much about that even with the "green atmosphere" that is part of our lifetime.

yeah, there was talk of installing hydro power plants on the bay of fundy many, many years ago. seems like a good idea, but, i suspect fishermen in the area wouldn't be too happy. also, canada has a fair bit of hydro already and doesn't really need it.
