Ok here's the issue.
I have Yahoo Messenger installed on my work computer. I can log into YM when I am logged onto my server at work, however it will not let me sign in when I am logged on locally at home, I have windows XP, and it says it may be a local firewall issue on the computer itself, that is somehow bypassed when I am logged onto my work server. Anyone have an idea on how I can turn off this firewall to allow access to YM?
TIA
Yahoo Messenger

Re: Yahoo Messenger
What firewall are you using? The built-in Windows firewall?
Try disabling it.
Try disabling it.

Why don’t you just STFU.
Re: Yahoo Messenger
If Marty's fix doesn't work, check to see if the firewall in the broadband router I assume you're using is blocking it -- log into the router, and check the logs -- if the logging isn't turned on, enable it and see if the YIM app even hits it, or is stopped short of there.
